my name's Maria Brigandi! So why now?

I first started dog sitting truly when i got my first apartment about 4 years ago. My mom was allergic to dogs and cats my entire life!! We had our family dog Tucker (2009-2024) who was hypo allergenic but other than that we were pretty strict on pets. My brother adopted 2 beautiful pits when he moved out and we worked with them for a while. Once i moved out, the animals came! Working in healthcar

e the last 10 years has burned me out. Not to mention, my parents have gotten older and my father has put up one hell of a fight in his journey with cancer. At 31, I decided to come home and help, to let go of all the materialistic things and just be where my heart is. In doing that it has allowed me to take some time and invest in things i also love to do - animal care! Keep an eye on you fur friends!

On Friday, September 6, 2024, the Harford County Health Department received confirmation from the Maryland Department of Health that a raccoon found in the Whiteford area of Harford County, tested positive for the rabies virus.

Although this raccoon was found in the 2900 block of Whiteford Road, it may have exposed other persons and pets in the surrounding area. Witnessing a raccoon is not cause for alarm, but if you or your pets have had contact with a raccoon, please contact the Harford County Health Department at 410-877-2300 for follow up.

This office would like to remind the citizens of Harford County of the following ways to protect themselves and their pets:

1) Always keep pets leashed when out for walks and closely monitored in your backyard.
2) All cats, dogs and ferrets should remain up to date on their rabies vaccinations through their vet office or local rabies vaccination clinic.
3) Cover trash cans and do not leave pet food outside.
4) Avoid feeding, petting, or interacting with wildlife in any way.
