🐾Announcement🐾 PRE PLANNED TIME OFF 2025 and 2026.

Every year I will be taking the following time off. My website editor wasn’t working last time I tried to update and post this on website, will try again next time I have free time.

❄️ After midday run on Friday, January 31st, 2026 thru Sunday, February 8th, 2026.

I got sick with both covid and pneumonia and a sinus infection last winter during JAN/FEB - I cannot have that happen again. February is the slow month anyway. This is also to get organized for taxes.

🌺 SPRING after Midday run on Friday, May 22nd, 2026 thru end of Memorial Day, Monday May 25th, 2026

☀️ SUMMER after Midday run on Friday, August 29th, 2025 + (28th 2026) 2thru end of Labor Day, Monday September 1st, 2025 (+AUG 31st, 2026)

🎄 UNDECIDED - WINTER after midday run on Friday, December 26th, 2025 thru end of Tuesday, January 1st, 2025 (NEW YEARS DAY). End of year organization. Depends on volume of inquiries recieved

Good morning Pack ☀️

The schedule will be in overdrive from tomorrow until the 26th.

Along with my overnight, I will have

2AM visits after overnight stay
6-11 MIDDAY visits that will run into dinners
2PM visits before the overnight

I will not be home much and will not be attending to estimates, emails, inquiries or any social media timely.

Invoicing for middays is this Friday the 25th, I would expect all to be done by Sunday the 27th.

I cannot ADD any visits to Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and will not be scheduling any meets and greets until after the 27th.

Reminder, company is CLOSED to requests from Friday afternoon (after midday run) August 29th THRU Monday, September 1st, Labor Day.

In addition, as a heads up. I will be only offering 9 hour overnights starting SEPTEMBER 2025💤
Pricing will be as follows and ALL clients will be on this charge as it is a “new visit option”.

9HOUR OVERNIGHT STAY/1PET $79.00
2PETS $84.50
3PETS $90.00
4PETS $95.50
5PETS $101.00
6PETS $106.50

*Please note this pricing is for dogs/cats only, small animals additional.

They will replace the 8 hour and 12 hour options.

Reasoning
-I am not sleeping well at these 8 hour overnights plus having to get up and drive and do a full day of work, after many days of not sleeping well or long is probably attributing to my health being back and forth.

-I am finding I am generally staying 9-6 or 10-7 anyway.

-12 hour overnights block my ability to care for other households PM/AM.

ALSO NEW:
Not charging for fish care, I never did but it says I will on the website.

It is boxer weekend here at Purrs and Playin’ Paws, I’ve 6 boxers in my care, 3 boys and 3 girls so cute 🐾❤️

Wicked storms tonight ⛈️🌪️ I am home, if ever I am scheduled for your dogs during severe weather and they get severe anxiety you can always switch from drop ins to an 8HR overnight (if im not already booked with one, just ask).

I am up watching weather report myself. My dog is terrified as well so like to be with him but I have family at home to watch him if I’m needed elsewhere.

Things I worry about during severe weather and having multiple families on vacation:

1. Power loss - lack of A/C for dogs in summer time
2. Lightening strike house fires
3. Dogs going through severe anxiety alone in general or alone in crate.

Additionally, please talk to your vet about having calming medicine (trazadone) on hand for thunderstorms. 🌩️

Purrs and Playin’ Paws is scheduled to complete 17 visits tomorrow:

3 AMs
9 MIDDAYs
2 DINNERs
3 PMs

This includes 11 dogs and 2 cats across 10 households.

Due to the volume of visits I’ve had for several days and through the 27th, it will be hard for me to sit and respond to new client inquiries timely. 🐾

Update on Nail Trim Service! 🐾

I have bought a hand held file in conjunction with the clippers to smooth out those pups with sharp tips or to file down edges without the anxiety inducing sound of the dremmel! Dremmels also can cause cuts.

I thought almost all my pet friends would be calm and ameenable to their nails being done by me solo but that’s only been the case for a few.

I am finding that nail trims are taking much longer than expected as I need to get the dogs to lay down and be still, which takes a few minutes to get them calm and settled.

With the filing as well taking extra time I am upping the price of nail trims, starting August 1st, 2025 to $12.00/dog for the service. Cats remain at $6.00 because they do not need filing.

Starting September 1st, 2025 I will be taking off the FIRST + LAST weekends each month.

If one is skipped that means it’s already booked.

Purrs and Playin Paws will be closed to requests the following weekends.

-Friday August 29th afternoon through September 1st, 2025.
-September 6th+7th
-September 27th + 28th
NOT BLOCKING OCTOBER (already booked)
-November 1st + 2nd
-November 29th + 30th
-December 6th + 7th
-December 27th+28th

I’m not 100% opposed to taking jobs these dates as long as I get some time off elsewhere in the month.

Will post on webite as well.

It will be an adjustment and not a perfect system but I’m trying to make a change for myself until I can get someone hired + trained. I intend to train someone(s) on every client that’s in the pack. It takes time to hire correctly and to have them secure and ready to work on their own. My goal is by Jan 2026 to have at least 1-4 team members. Then I can open all weekends back up .

I texted all clients affected today, but I had a medical issue last evening and had to go to urgent care and then ambulance to hospital. Basically they’re saying severe dehydration causing extreme migraine, the worst I’ve ever had and I’ve had bad bad migraines. Additionally my leg muscles were so overly exhausted and painful I could not walk, and didn’t sleep at all. I will not be working today. I need to rest and will be seeing my doctor tomorrow to follow up. Still struggling with mobility and cannot drive.

I apologize for the inconvenience, this happened very suddenly.
