A great day in the field for Diana and her young dogs, Rain and Roxy, a couple weeks ago at the Weimaraner Club of Washington DC! Rain and Roxy placed 2nd and 3rd in their AKC Puppy Class Field Trial.
For those unfamiliar, an AKC Puppy Class Field Trial is designed for young dogs (usually 6+ months) to build confidence and showcase their natural hunting instincts. Puppies work through simulated field scenarios - land or water retrieves, scent trailing, and more - focused on instinct and enthusiasm rather than polished training. It’s a wonderful introduction to the sport and the foundation for future titles.
With spring hunt tests just a few months away, now is also a great time to talk to our upland trainer, Nick, about getting your dog started in AKC hunt test training!
