We are of mixed emotions today. We are losing two of our beloved Ver Assistants. One is headed off to college, and one has had a dream job opportunity open up to her. We are sad to see them both go, but we wish them all the best. They will always have a home here at the LVVC.
However, this allows for the prospect of adding new personalities to our team. We are looking forward to meeting our new team member.

We are a mixed-animal clinic located in the country. We are focused on quality care. We are the most experienced clinic in the area, with 40 years in operation. Although we are in the country, we are a fast-paced organization. We have a 7-doctor practice running 6 days a week. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player who will be an ancillary point of contact for visitors at the office, greeting them in a polite and well-spoken manner. You will also be assigned duties as required (i.e., general clerical support). Our Veterinary Assistants are highly valued and are an integral part of the patient care team.

The ideal applicant:
• Has prior experience
• Has excellent communication and client skills
• Mus have compassion for animals and their owners
• Works well independently and in a team setting
• Can multitask, pay attention to detail, prioritize, is organized, and work with little to no supervision
• Has computer skills
• Is available on weekends and some holidays.

The job entails:
• Feed, groom, and weigh animals
• Clean cages and bathe animals
• Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms
• Assist doctors during examinations or vaccinations
• Soothe upset or frightened animals
• Administer medication prescribed by Veterinarians (e.g. by mixing it with food)
• Observe animal behavior or health condition and report to the Vet
• Help in cases of emergencies
• Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments or calling patients in the examination room by priority
• Keep accurate records and logs
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
• Assist veterinarian with surgeries
