Here me out… what else do you really have to do at a show besides take care of your horses?

This is not my vacation.

I clean my stalls 20x a day I bet lol. It really does help, even if you clean them 2x a day at home, you can clean them extra at the show.

Also, although I feed slow feed nets on the trailer, I typically free feed on ground at the show. Sometimes I don’t think they can eat enough hay if they are working so hard for it. Worried about waste? Feed as much as a horse wants, one flake at a time to cut down on waste. Just be aware of what’s right for your specific needs, and keep that in mind.

Performance horses NEED calories.

I try to keep them as comfortable as possible on the road, bed them heavy. You’re not going to have your best athlete if they are achey, sore and hungry.

🔥Be an Advocate for your horses!!!🔥

When you are on the road traveling with your horses to competitions etc we want the very best for them. Unfortunately we can’t just trust anyone to work on our priceless horses. It’s up to us as owners to research and learn things ourselves so we can have at least a basic understanding of how things should look or be when someone else is working on them. This gives owners the power and knowledge to feel comfortable to ask questions when something doesn’t look or seem quite right.

🔥Always vet the person working on your horses. You would be surprised how many are not properly trained/certified or even have the correct equipment to be working on your horses.

Here are some helpful things to look for or ask someone before allowing them to work on your horse.

✅ Are They ATS CERTIFIED?
(They would have an actual certificate to show)

✅ What model of Acuscope and Myopulse do they have?

✅ Is their Acuscope Animal calibrated or Human?
(A lot of non ATS dealers sell people human calibrated ones saying it’s for Equine 🚩 The serial numbers on the equipment will tell you if it’s animal or human calibrated)

✅ What kind of gel are they using?
(If it’s not EQUISOL Gel and they’re using say Ultra sound gel… 🚩your horse will get painful stings/shock from not using proper gel and is not effective)

✅Are they following protocols set in place for the safety of the horses?
(Example: If you see any electrodes being placed on the horses forehead 🚩)

✅ How does their instruments and accessories look? Clean and well kept?

These are very important things to be aware of when considering anyone to work on your horses. It definitely matters! Your hard earned money should be well spent and the treatment you pay for should be as effective as possible due to correct training and equipment being used on your equine partners!

When you start your horse with equine acuscope therapy, it is important to understand how many applications and how consecutive they are can affect how your horse responds. The study below outlines how the majority of patients achieve stability or resolution.

A good example is, a horse receiving 4 treatments in the span of 2 weeks will reach stability faster than a horse receiving 4 treatments over the span of a month.

If the patient has not had a treatment in a while, or is a brand new patient, it is always suggested to do 3 consecutive treatments to help the body maintain consistency and respond better to the treatment.
