Stryker is another dog that could benefit from a foster (or a foster fail π) situation.
Stryker is the sweetest shepherd mix that is, unfortunately, totally lacking in confidence.
He came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of his own and the transition from a home environment to the shelter is understandably overwhelming and can be absolutely terrifying. We know that he lived with other dogs in his previous home and he's been great with them while he's here. He also hasn't shown any red flags with cats.
When he's out of his kennel, he spends a lot of his time shaking, cowering, and slinking along low to the ground. He'll pick his "comfort" person and stick close to them for reassurance. He's a little bit of a snuggle bug, wanting to lean right up against you or try to get into your lap (all 56lbs of him). He hasn't shown any interest in treats and very minor interest in toys but he's just so scared that we don't really blame him. We're hoping that changes once he's somewhere more comfortable and less overwhelming for him.
Stryker is a very good, very sweet, very loving boy. He just needs somewhere calm and quiet and someone who can help him build up some much needed confidence. He's just a big baby who needs a sense of security to come out of his shell.
Fosters should live within a reasonable driving distance.
