It so important to have a separate sleep, play, and potty space for your pup! As someone who has had “pet store” puppies as a kid, I remember distinctly how this affected each puppy we brought home. At Red Pine Bernedoodles, we make sure to train our puppies early that there’s a separate place to go potty. By 6 weeks we’re almost 100% (minus a few scenarios where we don’t line ourselves up correctly 😆) when we’re in our puppy pen!

The babies are getting so big! They’re running around, playing, and working on a mouth full of teeth. Today, we started working on crate training which is super helpful when they go home to their future owners. They did great!

Sweet little Rudy was born with one of my FAVORITE color combos for a Bernedoodle! We had two puppies in our last litter with his coloring and let me tell you...they are gorgeous from birth to adulthood!

He is considered a phantom, like his mom, but unlike her he has that beautiful rust color on his cheeks, legs, and eyebrows. Those eyebrows get me every time! 😂. Because he also has markings of white on his chin and legs, his coloring is specifically considered a phantom tri-color, a " genetic coat pattern characterized by a solid base color (often black or chocolate) with distinct markings of a second color, typically tan or copper, above the eyes, on the cheeks, muzzle, chest, legs, and under the tail. These markings are sharply defined and usually have less white than a traditional tri-color, though they can sometimes have white abstract markings as well." In a word...this color is STRIKINGLY beautiful!

Bernedoodles come in a wide variety of colors which makes for a fun reveal when the puppies are born! We're fortunate to work with a wonderful breeder, Becky from Bernedoodle Boutique, who is just a wealth of knowledge when it comes to understanding color genetics and how those genes work together.

This litter, while small, gave us our very first sable puppy in Noel and she is absolutely gorgeous! She's a copy and paste of her dad, Milo, who is also a sable. A sable Bernedoodle has a coat pattern with each hair having a light base with darker tips, creating a "shaded" or "tipped" look. Think high-lights for a dog 🤗. This color is dynamic and so unique with pups often starting dark and lightening to shades of cream, apricot, or blonde with dark accents on ears and back. It's going to be so fun to watch Noel's color develop over time!
