This Saturday we helped a pet that arrived with bleeding. The cause was found to be tumors growing under the tail, which had started to outgrow their blood supplies - becoming necrotic - leading to bleeding. These tumors are hormone responsive in young to middle age intact male dogs. This problem is totally preventable with neutering, but will now require tumor surgery as well.

Today we helped a pet with significant bladder disease. Ultrasound - a non-invasive, safe, and effective diagnostic modality - was key to efficient diagnosis and treatment.

One of this past saturday's patients was a reminder of why pets should be spayed/neutered. This elderly kitty cat presented with a history of sudden onset illness. a screening FAST-SONO revealed a pus-filled uterus. Cats are notorious for hiding illness until it is very serious... it likely took over 1 month for the infected uterus to reach the point of causing systemic illness. We are glad that our team was ready to provide compassionate urgent care for this patient in need. And we are glad that our format allows families to stay with their pet inside our comfortable office.

On our first Saturday open we received a call from a family who's kitty cat had fallen then had difficulty walking. Upon exam we found a laceration the family hadnt noticed and identified signs of possible fracture in the hip region. After repairing the laceration we took radiographs and identified an implosion fracture of the left hip joint. After outpatient treatment we are glad to report that this kitty cat is now home with his family and on the road to recovery.
