Some light hearted groomer humor on this snowy Saturday!

The term “puppy cut” is a very common request that groomers receive regularly. But because it doesn’t refer to a specific cut, style, or length, (other than in reference to a standard poodle puppy cut), it can be frustrating for groomers to hear.

Some tips for talking to your groomer about the type of haircut you want for your pooch:

- Don’t be afraid to speak in terms of length. How much do you want taken off? How much do you want left on? Use your hands, show us on the dog. We can easily determine a suitable length for the groom when we have more information to go on.

- Bring pictures! Most groomers have no problem with clients bringing in pictures of how they’d like their dog groomed. Just remember that your dog may have a different coat type and texture so the result may look different on your dog than in the picture. But we will certainly do our best to execute it.

- If it’s not your first visit and there’s something you’d like done differently than a previous visit, don’t be shy! It’s our goal to make you happy, and we want to ensure that you leave that way.

Keep those lines of communication open, a friendly dialogue goes a long way.
