Quite possibly the sweetest boy you’ll ever meet. He’s a 2-year-old beagle mix who is house trained, crate trained, and a professional snuggle boy. And yes—he will absolutely use those little begging paws to request snacks. 🥹

Just a little compilation of Chloe being SUCH a good girl 🥰🤭

Chloe was on the euthanasia list in South Carolina & got a second chance at life here in New York. She’s now been in a foster home for 2 months and we’re all wondering why she hasn’t found her family.

This wonderful girl is a boxer mix, about 2 years old, and is full of love, joy & companionship. You can tell that she just wants a family to love and someone who will love her. Simple! ❤️

It’s R***r again!

65 pounds of goofy, lovable energy - and now officially a trained good boy! 🥹

R***r just finished his training and has come such a long way. He’s playful, affectionate, smart, and the kind of dog who will have you laughing one minute and cuddling with him on the couch the next.

At 2.5 years old, R***r is neutered, fully vetted, and ready for his forever home. ❤️

There’s just one important thing about his perfect match: R***r needs to be the one and only animal in the home. No dogs, no cats, no other pets - just him soaking up all the love and attention. 🥰

And honestly? He’s already pretty happy about that arrangement.

R***r has put in the work, learned so much, and is ready for someone who will continue to give him the love, structure, and happy life he deserves. Could you be his person? 🐾

At about 10–12 weeks old, Lily is officially the last of her litter still searching for her forever family. Her siblings have all found their people—and now it’s her turn. 💛

She has her puppy eyes perfected, her bags packed and so much love waiting for the family lucky enough to call her theirs.

A little update on our tiniest fighter, Opal. ❤️🐾

Since our last post, Baby Opal is still hanging in there. She’s continuing with supervised nursing from Mama Gloria, who has been accepting her and giving her the chance we were all hoping for. 🥹

And we have good news on the rest of the family, too! Mama Gloria’s cozy café is doing well and all those little babies are growing stronger by the day. ❤️

Meanwhile, Mama Ruby and her nine little gemstones are doing wonderfully, too. 💎🐾 They’re healthy, growing, and keeping Mama Ruby very busy as you can see!

We’re still taking things one day at a time with Opal, but she’s here, she’s warm, she’s being cared for, and she’s fighting.

Please keep the good thoughts coming for our tiniest girl. ❤️

Rescue is never easy—and this morning was ROUGH.

Mama Ruby gave birth to nine healthy babies, but this morning, we found her smallest puppy alone on the other side of the pool, cold and rejected by her mama. Sadly, this happens.

We immediately contacted our vet and began following specific feeding instructions to give this tiny girl the best possible chance. Then it dawned on us: Maybe Mama Gloria would accept her.

We introduced them with every ounce of hope we had—and thankfully, Mama Gloria took her in. ❤️

This little girl is still nowhere near out of the woods. Failure to thrive in newborn puppies is an incredibly difficult, uphill battle that many sadly do not survive.

But for now, she is warm. She is being cared for. And she is surrounded by people—and one very special foster mama—who are willing to fight alongside her.

We will give her every possible chance. Please keep this tiny fighter in your thoughts. 🐾

It’s House Hippo Season at Wilder Souls!

This year’s House Hippo Season has officially begun, and our herd is looking for homes. 🦛

Meet this season’s House Hippos:
🩶 Dozer
🩶 Sophia
🩶 R***r
🩶 Magnolia
🩶 Opie
🩶 Luna
🩶 Cici

Each one is an expert in:
🦛 Couch lounging
🦛 Blanket burrowing
🦛 Snacking
🦛 Following you from room to room
🦛 Believing personal space is optional
🦛 Loving their humans with their whole heart

But House Hippos aren’t free to care for.

Each of these hungry hippos costs Wilder Souls Rescue about $65 every month for food, treats, supplements, and the everyday care they need while waiting for their families.

Some of our hippos need a little extra support:
🩶 Magnolia is recovering from heartworm treatment & working with a trainer to build confidence and skills.
🩶 Opie has completed heartworm treatment and is finally ready to start the next chapter of his life.
🩶 R***r is going to a training facility that can help him continue learning and becoming the very best version of himself.

Throughout House Hippo Season, we’ll introduce each member of our herd, share their stories, celebrate their wins, and hopefully send every single one home.

Because every House Hippo deserves more than a kennel.

🌸 Dora is still waiting for a family of her own!

This adorable little pup is around 2 months old, a lab mix, and is full of puppy love, playful energy & snuggles.
