Hamilton Dog Training Club, Inc. see website www.hamiltondogtraining.com Now, in our own building, we are holding classes 4 or 5 nights a week, with some special events on weekends.

HDTC recently celebrated its 65th YEAR !! --sixty years as a non-profit organization teaching both pet and competition obedience classes and dedicated to improving the relationship between dogs and their owners. The club also provides agility, obedience, rally, conformation, and therapy dog classes; holds annual obedience and agility trials; has member events such as parties and picnics; participa

tes in parades, demonstrations, and local fairs; and is involved in therapy or educational visits to nursing homes, hospices, and schools. Many years ago we taught classes in local school buildings or in the National Guard Armory, holding classes just once a week. HDTC has a large, experienced, volunteer staff of individuals who are all dedicated to providing excellent instruction. All of our instructors not only teach others, but attend training classes and seminars themselves, and train and exhibit their own dogs in obedience, conformation, agility, and other performance events.

The Hamilton Dog Training Club held its second annual scent work trial last weekend. We were lucky to be able to utilize the New Miami School again this year. They were wonderful to work with. Nearly 130 dogs and their owners from around Ohio and nearby states competed in Novice through Masters classes across every element and all levels from Masters to Novice and this year’s event we were able to add 2 Detective trials each day.
We were so happy to have had such a fun judging panel; Kim Craig, Tony Ginter, Cheryl Hedges, Dylan Kyle, Edith Markoff and April Paulman.
Although Saturday was really hot and humid, the rain held off until after the trial, sprinkling just a bit as I drove out of the parking lot.
Huge thanks to all the club members who worked, especially those who are not involved in the sport of scent work, and those who are not members of the HDTC but helped throughout the trial.
