Do you know how to spot a pelted coat? A pelted coat is when a dog’s fur is so severely matted and tangled that it essentially becomes a solid, carpet-like layer of fur trapped directly against their skin. Wet shaving a pelted coat is an ideal and safe way to remove this severe matting. Shaving a washed and damp pelted coat keeps the dog’s skin cool to prevent blade burn and gives the fur slightly more elasticity, which preserves more coat length (to help protect skin from sunburn) vs. a dry shave. This pup is back to feeling great after their wet shave down! 🩷

Hi… my name is Cayden.

I’m a little poodle, almost five years old, and I’m still figuring a lot of things out. I came to Noah’s Ark from a place where there were so many dogs that it was hard to be noticed. I learned to stay quiet and out of the way. I guess I’m still a bit like that.

Being here is a little scary for me sometimes. There’s a lot of noise, and lots of dogs, and I’m not really the type who likes all that hustle and bustle. I’m more of a quiet companion kind of guy.

What I really dream about is a calm home… somewhere peaceful, where I can relax and just be close to my person. I love cuddling—especially if there’s a warm lap involved. That’s my favorite place in the whole world.

I’ll be honest, I’m still learning some things, like potty training. I try my best, but I do have the occasional accident. I just need someone patient who understands that I’m trying and will help me keep getting better.

Maybe… if you have a quiet home and a little extra patience, I could be your new best friend.
