I am looking for a lovable Great Dane.
Having explored the online adoption organizations, although there are no concerns about our being approved for an adoption, we have yet to find the right fit. The Great Dane that joins our family MUST be very friendly to every person and cat he/she meets. Personality is hard to discern in a posting. You know your Great Dane best.
But, I must be frank. If you are looking to make a profit on such an adoption, please do not contact us and no breeders please. If your Great Dane is friendly to a fault, healthy and under the age of three; if you are the kind of person who would never send your buddy to the SPCA, but would consider another, loving forever home, please please contact us.
We are life-long dog owners, can afford to care for him properly, have numerous vet and people references, are home 24/7 and willing to make him the focus of attention. We live on a farm with a horse boarding stable. I can assure you, there is soooo much love here between our home and stable families that whomever we adopt will be well socialized, doted-over and loved. But, the fit must be right for a successful adoption.
No, the picture is not of me. I just like the picture : )
Thanks for your consideration.
Is Barley still available? He’s so adorable ☺️🥰Pet ID # 2021-0327
Ever thought about fostering but don’t think you would be able to let your foster go on to his/her new home?
Try looking at the process with a different perspective. I thought this way once as well but hundreds of fosters later I am so glad I gave it a try! There are few things more rewarding, so if you think you can’t, think again.
(This video may be about kittens but it’s just as true for adult fosters.)
Good afternoon,
I would like to obtain information about rehoming my purebred seal point Siamese cat, Oliver. He will be turning 5 years old this August and is in good health. Oliver is an indoor cat, declawed, and neutered. He does not get along with our other cat and would be best suited in a new home with only adults and no other pets. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Your webpage is down, so I was hoping to get assistance through your page.
Thank you,
Caroline
Good morning, just thought of sharing this here in hopes to find anew home and/or financial support for Melanie.
In the summer of 2002, I was at the Fair Lakes Petsmart getting litter for my kitty at home. An adoption fair was going on at the time, so I stopped by for a quick peek. I found a fluffy grey tuxedo kitten staring at me. I stuck my finger in the cage to pet him, and he licked it. He melted my heart. I submitted all of the adoption paperwork and was approved!
The story I was told upon adoption was that his original name was "LuLu". He was thought to be a girl because they couldn't find his boy bits in all of his fluff! Once discovered, it was shortened to "Lu".
Lu affectionately became Luey and over the years acquired many nicknames. Licky Lu, Loogie Woogie, which then morphed into Boogie Woogie, and Boog for short. Quite often I still called him LuLu.
Over the years he became my welcome kitty. Any time I had visitors, he was there to welcome them. The licking never did stop and was one of the things he always did when he would greet someone; give them a quick little lick and then nudge them for a head rub. I think it was his own way of saying "hi". Unfortunately, the downside of the licking, he did lick *everything*; from the walls, to the furniture, to the floor! If it wasn't moving, it would get licked!
He was a gentle soul, and didn't like fighting or scuffling with his brothers. He was a typical cat in the affection department. He only wanted it when *he* wanted it, and did not like to be held, at all.
In 2017, at the age of 15 he was diagnosed with kidney disease as so many kitties are. It was well managed with diet and routine checks with the Dr. Then in 2019, at the age of 17 he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. Something else that we couldn't treat, but only manage. All the while, he was acting like everything was fine. Of course, he did start to slow down a bit, but anyone that saw him thought he was only 10! In February, things took a turn, when we discovered he had a cracked molar. At this point, he was 18, and the Dr's weren't sure if he would make it through surgery due to his age and existing health issues. He made it through, like the fighter that he was. Unfortunately, during the surgery the Dr discovered cancer in his jaw. The location and his age made it impossible to treat. I was just hoping that he would make it to his 19th birthday, and he miraculously did! He healed fairly well from the tooth extraction, but the cancer really took hold in the last several weeks. His quality of life diminished significantly so yesterday I made the decision to ease his pain.
He was with me through so many life milestones, and nearly half of my life. I wanted to take a moment to honor him and to thank Fancy Cats & Dogs Rescue Team for giving me the opportunity to be his Mom. We had an amazing 19 years together. I will miss you always, my LuLu.
Who says you can't get a purebred from a shelter or rescue?
Adoption Pupdate #2:
"Bo (now Peanut) is doing so well! He loves his big sister, Violet, and his human brother and sisters. He's not so sure about the cat, but they have a good working relationship.
He's a super cuddle bug, total beagle (we had his DNA tested and he is 100% beagle!), and loves everyone he meets. He is great about asking to go outside to go potty and using the doggie door, still is working on not chewing things he is not supposed to, but overall such a great boy."
Just wanted to give you an update on Mick and Cartney (now Martin and David). They've settled in well here, and even tolerate our toddler well. Their favorite time, though, is when the kids are off to bed and can receive as much attention as they want from the adults. They're purrfect additions to our crazy family.
LORD OF THE FOSTE-RINGS!
Bilbo (10), Samwise (9) Gandalf (10), Diva (6) and Betty Davis (7) have just arrived, are in need of foster homes. They were surrendered to a shelter when their owner passed away. Because they are comfortable together, they can go in pairs or a trio, or not.
Our work strongly relies on the kindness of foster families, and there are always, always more animals than fosters. If you want to feel like a hero and help out a homeless kitty, please apply here:

Aw, if he isn't the cutest! Another adoption update.
"Chewy is doing great and we love him so much! After we adopted Chewy we changed his name to Lucky. We felt like it was the perfect name - we were lucky to have him and he was lucky to find a home through you.
Lucky is so sweet and loves to sit in our laps even though he doesn’t fit very well anymore. He’s only about 13 pounds but he is growing tall and has long legs that prance when he walks. Lucky has had training and he does really well except when he is distracted (usually by leaves). On his first day here he took over our son’s beanbag. He has his own bed but during the day he still likes taking naps in it. He’s pretty smart too- we gave him a dog puzzle but he figured it out too soon. We’ll have to find one a little more challenging. He’s healthy and happy! 🙂"
So many great adoption updates this week, we couldn't choose, so don't mind us while we show you more success stories!
"Albert and Darwin are now Huck and Finn. The boys are enjoying their new home and have some pretty hysterical antics. They are a great pair of goofballs, very smart and full of s***k but also lovable, and they are growing like weeds. They love sitting at the front storm door and watching the world go by or sitting in the windows watching birds and squirrels. Otherwise they are running through the house chasing each other or toys."
