DOG TRAINING APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITY
Paw Mind Body, a busy, highly rated, local dog training company is expanding and seeks candidates to enter into an apprenticeship program with a goal of becoming the lead trainer in either Loudoun or Prince William County. Ideal candidates will be passionate about working with dogs, have an interest in gaining dog-training experience, and a desire to work towards managing their own piece of a dog-training business. Our previous apprentice has graduated from the program and is managing his own branch of the business in another city.

Job Type -- 1099 contract professional
Job Location -- Northern Virginia. For training we’ll primarily visit clients in Fairfax County, Arlington County and the City of Alexandria. Once you’ve graduated from the program, your territory would be either Loudoun or Prince William County, so residing in one of those counties is ideal.
Ideal Qualifications (that you already have or want to develop)
Some experience interacting with dogs
Great customer service skills – desire to create a delightful client experience
Positive attitude
Patience – you’ll work with dogs and their owners and will need patience with both
Friendly – enjoys interacting with clients
Good fit with the “dog training with kindness culture”
Reliable – keeps commitments
Professional and proactive communication skills
Initiative to grow your part of the business
Organized – able to manage numerous clients with varying needs
Good time management skills and punctuality
Able to keep calm under pressure and in stressful situations
Good stamina
Able to learn and utilize online client management system
Enthusiastic about growing skills in the dog-training industry
Requirements
Must be 18 years old or older
Car, proof of Insurance, and good driving record
Valid driver’s license
Able to pass criminal background check
Smart phone with internet access
Availability to work evenings and weekends
Compensation
This is an apprentice-style opportunity. Much of the compensation will be invaluable, hands-on experience learning the Paw Mind Body approach to training, managing clients, and marketing a business. Financial compensation will increase as you're able to take on client services on your own and expand into the Loudoun or Prince William territory.
