Guess what came today? …Miss Anne Bonnie’s cast from East Tennessee Mini Horse and Donkey Rescue! 🐎. This one’s gonna be a fun one, because not only do I get to be creative with the fit and flair, I’m gonna be fabricating it the same way we would a human amputee’s socket 🦿😮. Gonna be gettin’ nerdy and crafty for the most adorable horse you’ve ever seen 🥹. East Tennessee Miniature Horse and Donkey Rescue

48 hours in Tennessee with two of the most incredible rescues we’ve ever stepped foot in.

Priscilla took her first steps in her brand new full-limb prosthetic, Cooper trialed his protective helmet like a total pro, Ducky got casted for her partial prosthetic, and Anne Bonnie became our first mini horse to be fully 3D scanned for a custom limb.

Different animals. Different stories. Same goal- giving them a little more freedom, mobility, and quality of life.

Now it’s back to Virginia to start fabrication mode before heading back soon for the next chapter. Until then, here’s 48 hours of chaos, casting material, road trips, and life-changing moments packed into one minute.

We can’t wait to meet Miss Anne at East Tennessee Miniature Horse and Donkey Rescue and get started on her new prosthetic! Thanks for letting us be a part of her journey. 🐎🦿❤️‍🩹

MAY DAY and happy FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY!

We are raising funds for Anne Bonny's new prosthetic. Every year she wears down her old device and needs a new one. We are excited to announce that we will be working with a new company this year that will be updating the materials and joint so the leg should last longer and be even more supportive.
Infinitely Able Pets Orthotics & Prosthetics will be flying out to the rescue on May 15th for measurements and to ensure the prosthetic will be functional for her.
The price of her new leg is $3000, that includes travel expenses and scans of her leg. Please help us by donating today!

Miss Sprite is full of sass and s***k! We can’t wait to get started on her cart! 🐐🛞

Little Ms. Sprite’s cast has been sent off to Infinitely Able Pets Orthotics & Prosthetics to begin the next step of her custom wheelchair cart.

This cast was made via a zoom call with the company and we used casting material which was formed around her, it hardened and then we had to carefully cut it off. It was a process and took two adults (and we could have used a third!!).
Sprite was a trooper and didn't seem to mind one bit.

This cart is going to enrichment her life and give her a lot of freedom and better quality of life. We wanted to give a huge shout out to Hoods Hardware-Gifts for their generous donation of $170 towards her cart. We so appreciate everyone single one of you!!!!!

The struggles in this field usually stay hidden. For every WIN you see on social media, there are often ten failures behind it. The time, mental focus, and physical effort that go into every prosthetic, orthotic, and mobility cart created are real. And while the exhaustion is just as real, it never outweighs the moment an animal can run, walk, or even stand again. Behind the scenes isn’t glamorous, but it’s part of the story. ☺️🦾🦿🐾

Annnnnnd they’re ready to GO! Kiki’s new “kicks” are headed to The Animal Pad for an initial TEST RUN, while we work on some potential 3D printed “suspension” for these hybrid prosthetic/ orthotic braces. Can’t wait to see how she does in em. If you haven’t already, you should prob check out her story on their page- it’s pretty amazing! 🐾🦿🦮

Leilah from Serenity Farm Virginia came to visit our Fairfax office today for her initial fitting and adjustments for her front limb orthotics and custom cart. She was the BEST patient. Excited to show you all the final fitting 😉

Miss Amber, artist extroirdinaire, and resident princess at Farm Sanctuary is a short time away from being able to move instead of “scoot”. A traumatic injury to her pelvis left her unable to remain upright and mobile. Since casting is not an option, we came up with a slight “workaround”- The amazing crew at Kanda took measurements, and we recreated her “impression” here in Virginia. The PRELIMINARY quality testing has been done by our lab 😉 (outtakes included 😆) and her device is on to finishing. Stay tuned, this will be a great story- we’re just happy to be a part of it. 🐖🦽❤️‍🩹

We are excited to be a part of Leilahs story!

Leilah came to Serenity Farm Virginia in 2023 when she was just five weeks old. We knew she had suffered frostbite at birth and could see the injury to her ears, but her tiny back legs were wrapped…
