We are pleased to introduce Dr. Julia McClain to the Bannon Woods Family!

Dr. McClain, a Georgetown, Kentucky native, developed her passion for veterinary medicine through her experience showing American Saddlebreds. She earned her degree in Agriculture with a concentration in Animal Science from Western Kentucky University. She then earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023.

Her professional interests include preventative care, internal medicine, and equine health. Outside of work, Dr. McClain enjoys spending time with her lab mix, Ginny, riding and showing American Saddlebreds, watching sports (especially high school and college football), reading, and being with her family and friends.

We are so glad Dr. McClain has joined the Bannon Woods family. She is already making friends, as seen with Miss Junie during her recent visit.

Equine dental health is SO important! Our camera scope provides diagnostic imaging during a dental examination. In this case, Dr. Robertson looks at the lower arcade and finds a diseased tooth that has been taken over by a cancerous mass!
Regular dental floats are recommended every 6 months to 1 year for our equine friends to prevent sharp points, oral discomfort, and improper digestion of food.

🐴Equine dental health is SO important! Our camera scope provides diagnostic imaging during a dental examination. In this case, Dr. Robertson used the scope to examine the lower arcade and found a diseased tooth that has been taken over by a cancerous mass.

Please welcome Allison Hart to the Bannon Woods Family during her preceptorship through April! Allison will graduate from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in May with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She is from New Jersey. Upon graduation, she plans to complete a rotating equine internship in Florida. As an equine practitioner, Allison looks forward to supporting equine athletes with passions in equine dentistry and internal medicine. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, crocheting, playing video games and spending time with her 2 cats - Olive Garden and Popeye - and Quarter Horse named Riggs. Be sure to say hello to Allison if you see her!
