A FEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. I am 2-3 months behind this year. We had to work through getting my wife through the end of her nursing school program this spring and with managing the kiddos, I just couldn’t get the hours in that I needed to early in the year. I’m catching up but it will still put everything out a couple months from last fall’s predictions. This next year will be right back on track when we start fresh.
2. There has been a widespread problem among all taxidermist lately with customers not picking up mounts and paying for them. For me, This isn’t a hobby, this is my family’s primary source of income, so, going forward for the rest of the year, I will be sending everyone a text when their deer is close on my work order to confirm that they are financially prepared to pick up and pay for their deer when it’s completed. If I don’t receive a written confirmation that they are ready then I will simply skip that mount for 1 month and then get back in contact again. Im willing to work with anyone and I understand everyone has stuff come up in life, but I also have to pay my bills as well, so I need to be putting my time and labor into projects that allow me to do so.
3. Prices will go up this fall. It’s not even an option for me to decide on given the cost of freight on supplies has almost doubled, and also my desire to do more focused work going forward. I will release the price list before the archery opener.
4. I am INCREDIBLY THANKFUL to everyone for their business and for trusting me with their mounts. I do the best I can as I grow and learn. I never imagined this would turn into what it has turned into. So, thank you for both your trust in me and for your patience! It means a lot!
