Now is the time to go to your vet and get meds if your dog is sensitive to fireworks. DO NOT WAIT!
For our new puppy families, you need to be working on desensitizing them to fireworks now, and every day. At crate time, get the puppy the sounds you think they will need help with desensitizing. Always start low, and build up these sounds. Turn the sounds on low while interacting with them and work them in the crate and increase the volume. Each time you do this, it just becomes background noise and it will be so helpful for them. If they cant seem to settle or have an issue, don't hesitate to contact your vet to get meds on board so they can have a safe and calm 4th of July. Please make sure you get them in a calm area, put
some music or other sounds that helps them settle, and please don't take them out late, or unattended if you don't know how they will react. You don't want to have to frantically search for a dog that has darted, terrified and alone.
