The first two days after Salem was surrendered again were rough on him. He laid behind the cat box with his head down as if he were feeling depressed and defeated for being back again. Wondering why he has lost his freedom and the love and companionship of his person.

I'm very happy to report that yesterday and today he is doing much better. He is eating and being more social and chipper. He is back to giving kisses and being the sweet boy that we know and love.Salem is 5 years old neutered and up to date on vaccines. Salem has been a emotional support animal in both of his previous homes and does a great job. He has also been in a home with a child with ASD. He is a big gentle loverboy❤️

Thanks again to everyone who donated yesterday. We were able to get a heater ordered and it should arrive by Tuesday.

Be Proactive!! NO APPOINTMENT IS REQUIRED FOR EITHER OUTDOOR OR FERAL CATS! You can bring 2 on any surgery day whether it is for a transport or to come into the Noblesville or Brownsburg clinic.
The feral cat package (trapped/unhandelable) is $60. The outdoor cat package is $70 (can be in a carrier/friendly or community). Both include the spay/neuter, 3-year rabies vaccine, flea treatment, pain medication injection, and the left ear is tipped 1/4". There may be additional fees if the cat is pregnant. (THEY ALSO TAKE VOUCHERS)

Indiana spay neuter transport dates and locations for December 2025. To schedule your cat or dog for a surgery, please call our transport line at 317-675-0072 and leave a message. You can also visit our website at www.lowcostspayneuterindiana.org to complete an online submission form to start the appointment process. When you go to our website, you have to choose the transport button and "schedule transportation;" otherwise, you will be directed to choose between our Brownsburg or Noblesville clinics.
We do not transport for vaccines only; however, vaccinations can be done at the same time as a spay, neuter, or dental. We do not require an appointment for feral cats; therefore, you can bring up to 2 feral cats per day per person. Please keep in mind that for some transports we are booking out several months. Follow our page to stay updated on new and upcoming transports! We look forward to caring for your pets!

Like many others I've been worrying about my own finances with our fridge going out, washer on the fritz, high electric bills before winter even kicks in, and replacing the heater for the building that houses the cats that I myself foster. Then with Salem being returned again for the second time I'm not gonna lie it's been a rough day.

I’ve also been worried non stop
thinking about all the animals living outside with no home. The abandoned and stray cats and dogs. Worrying about how they will survive a cold winter. I've received multiple messages, calls, and emails for me to take in 17 cats and 2 dogs in just the last week. We do not even foster dogs. And it's becoming harder and harder to continue daily operations with the rescue.

It's heartbreaking the amount of messages that we get every day with pictures of kitties. Mamas and their newborn litters. It's EVERYWHERE. And there's always a reason why the person can't take them in. Our rescue, like most, is full. We have nowhere to put any more animals. Shelters statewide are closing intake because they are already well over capacity and there's no end in sight. Kittens that used to be adopted as babies are now growing up in foster care and shelters spending their entire kitten hood in cages. Some well into adulthood. More people need to be proactive.

The people who are moving and leaving their cats behind, or letting their unaltered cats roam outside and add to the problem, IT'S SHAMEFUL! THERE IS NO EXCUSE!

We have been blessed with some very great supporters who try to donate on a regular basis. We are very grateful! ❤️❤️

Salem AKA Calvin. Calvin came to us about 5yrs ago as a sweet kitten. He was adopted out and then returned after 4 yrs no fault of his own. He is a very sweet boy and was an emotional support animal that lived with a child with ASD. He got a second chance and found a home again where he was once again a ESA. Once again Salem finds himself back with the rescue because people have failed him. He is the sweetest boy and just wants a true furrever home. The first time he was with us he seemed as if he didn't like other cats. His previous home he was living with another cat for a short time. Will monitor the situation and update. If anyone would like to give this sweet boy a permanent home please reach out.
