If you need to talk, call or text the 988 Su***de and Crisis Lifeline

Across the globe, communities are coming together to raise awareness and take action.
In veterinary medicine, the stakes are high. The su***de rate among veterinarians is significantly higher than the general population. That’s why NOMV exists, to change the narrative.
Today, take one step: share a resource, check in with a colleague, or start a conversation. Every action counts.

Good evening all. Please be patient with us as we navigate a very bad fracture of Doc Shannon’s leg. She is bed ridden in California for at least two weeks and possibly up to six weeks. (She flew out to help ger mom through her first few rounds of radiation). We are doing our best to get our vet friends to help cover some hours and generate income to keep the lights on and the staff paid.
The doctors we are using have all been in the office before and are great doctors and friends. Please use them.

If you are in a position to help with the expenses you can prepay for future care by stopping by the office and making a deposit on your account or a donation to the Ferdy fund to help those in need of care without the funds to fully pay for the care. You can also Venmo -Stanek or PayPal just let us know if you want the money applied to your account, the Ferdy fund or to help with Doc’s ongoing recovery expenses.

Here are some photos of the better days before the accident and the xray of the shattered bones in her left leg.

To Schedule appointments you need to contact the office at 610-363-7479. In Meta's ultimate wisdom they have decided to put in appointment schedulers that we can not edit without paying them extra money each month. These appointments do not coincide with our clinic scheduler.

Our Story

Established in 1991 as the Exton Pet Clinic by Dr. Robert Streitel, the Exton Vet Clinic has been providing care to the pets of our region for 29 years. We strive to offer personalized high quality care to the dogs and cats of Chester County and surrounds. We offer medicine, surgery, dentistry, laser therapy and house calls. Limited Boarding available for Cats requiring ongoing medication. Our team is committed to providing the best care possible to your pets and giving back to our community through service and charitable acts.

Dr. Stanek has owned and operated the practice since June 6, 2006. She is a graduate of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. She is the mom to two teenagers, a German Shepherd Dog, and 6 cats. She is termed grandma by one dog and 3 other cats. After a fight with Metastatic Amelanotic Malignant Melanoma in 2019, she is now cancer free and thriving and back to seeing patients and doing her full surgical load. She dedicates 34-40 hours a week to her patients and clients and spends an additional 10 plus hours doing the business management side of practice ownership. When not working she enjoys gardening, knitting, sewing, quilting, reading and long bike rides with her husband.

We are currently expanding our hours and capacity to better serve our clients needs. We are working to accomplish this through the use of skilled relief doctors while we work to add a second full time veterinarian.

Emily Ramos is our head veterinary technician. She has over 15 years experience as a certified veterinary technician. When she is not working with us, she spends her time with her daughter, 2 cats and a dog. She enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time with her extended family and friends.
