HELP! Our food supply is in short supply!
We are currently housing over 20 cats and almost 15 dogs - and we need to keep their bellies full.💜
The BEST way you can help is to ADOPT A PET! 😁 But if you're not in the market for a new furry friend, maybe you're able to help us restock the pantry.
We urgently need the following items:
* Canned kitten food
* Purina Puppy Chow dry puppy food
* Purina Dog Chow dry dog food
* All varieties of dog treats
* EZ Cheese
* creamy peanut butter
* Kongs (we stuff these with EZ cheese and peanut butter)
* Laundry soap
* Clay cat litter (non-clumping)

Items can be dropped off M-F at the Animal Control Center before 4pm. We appreciate your help! 🐾🐾

💙 End of Watch: Officer Blue #913 💙

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Officer Blue yesterday morning.

Officer Blue joined his blue family in December 2019 as a very young cadet and quickly became an important member of the Excelsior Springs Police Department. While he was never assigned a patrol car, Blue faithfully patrolled Police Headquarters each day, conducting inspections of desks, monitoring snack consumption, and taking frequent breaks.

His daily duties often included finding the warmest patch of sunshine in the building, accepting well-deserved brushings from staff, and strategically placing himself in the middle of a desk when important work needed to be done.

Police Headquarters feels a little quieter today, and several sunny spots are noticeably empty.

Officer Blue leaves behind his coworkers, countless admirers, and a legacy of shedding, napping, and unconditional companionship.

Blue, your watch has ended. Rest easy, buddy. 💙🐾
