Welcome to Better Bunny! We are Oahu's first 501(c)3 non-profit rabbit rescue, dedicated to saving neglected, abused, and abandoned rabbits.

Our mission is to provide them with a safe haven while they search for their forever homes.

In the wild, showing weakness makes them a target. Because of this, rabbits have evolved to instinctively hide signs of illness. By the time a bunny shows obvious signs of being sick, they may already be in serious trouble.

Watch closely for:
🐰 Subtle shifts in appetite (even eating slightly less)
🐰 Changes in p**p size, shape, or frequency
🐰 Lower energy or hiding more than usual
🐰 Teeth grinding or unusual posture
🐰 Less interest in favorite foods or activities

If something feels off, trust your instincts and check with your local veterinarian. Early intervention can save your bunny’s life.

We know how tempting it is—baby bunnies are SO cute, and are often represented as the perfect Easter surprise. But the truth is, rabbits are not seasonal gifts… they are a 10+ year commitment.

Every year after Easter, shelters and rescues see a heartbreaking increase in abandoned rabbits. Why? Because many people don’t realize that bunnies:
✨ Require specialized diets (constant supply of fresh hay + special serving of greens daily)
✨ Need lots of space (not cages!) and enrichment
✨ Can be expensive with vet care
✨ Have complex social and emotional needs

Rabbits are intelligent, sensitive animals who deserve forever homes, not temporary excitement.

This Easter, we urge you to:
-Choose chocolate, not live animals
- Consider joining our foster team!
-Support rescues instead of impulse buying
- Education is key!

If you’ve been considering a bunny, we love that for you—just take the time to research and adopt responsibly when you’re truly ready.

Let’s keep bunnies out of shelters and in loving homes where they belong.
