Happy New Year!

While I hope, dream, and work toward goals, I'm so thankful for all the good that I'm surrounded with on a daily basis. These pictures are just a few of this years' moments. There were some rough moments and failures, too, but Insta limits this to 20 pictures. 😆

I'm so very thankful for the beautiful life I enjoy! Today I took some pictures of just a few things that brighten my days:
1) a massive maple tree that provides shade, beauty, and a sense of "belonging"
2) pumpkins for our animals that have all been donated
3) raised garden beds which my fantastic daughter Kelly has grown flowers in this year
4) Freya
5) Isla chugging down her bottle as fast as she can
6) some of our goats enjoying the fresh pumpkins
7) two of the chickens (we had 7 given to us this year!) checking out the pumpkins
8 & 9) a couple of our rabbits enjoying the fresh pumpkins
10) three quarts of milk and 5 eggs from our hens today

There are SO MANY more little things that brighten every day. I'm grateful. ❤️

This is my "why". Caring for animals teaches so many different things.

Our visitors connect differently with different animals. Mylen is intimidated by the calves (but as you can see, Delilah loves them!). On the other hand, the bunnies terrify Delilah, and Mylen thinks they're great.
I love watching people interact with our different animals and hopefully become more comfortable around all of them. As we enter into the wet, cold months around here we encourage visitors to dress appropriately for cold, muddy conditions and let us know if there's a particular animal you want to spend time with. 😊

Archimedes ("Archie") is the biggest, bossiest, stinkiest goat we own. I can tell you that shearing this boy and trimming his hooves is a challenge. He's as wrinkly as a Shar Pei, and he does NOT appreciate having his head and neck touched or groomed. 😊
He produces beautiful babies, though!
