HE’S HEEEEEEREEE!!! 🐧
 
Wensleydale (yes, like the cheese) has officially made his debut! You can come see him NOW at the Penguin Habitat!
 
If you’re trying to spot him, look for the little guy with the yellow band on his wing. 💛 He’s still rocking his baby feathers, which are mostly grey. Trust us… he’s VERY cute.
 
This is great news for Humbolt Penguins as a whole, as they are currently listed as vulnerable by the IUCN due to threats like mining, human intrusion, and pollution.

Guests can purchase raffle tickets in person during the event for a shot at taking home half of the total pot.

Hello Rojo!! 👋🦜

In honor of World Parrot Day yesterday, we wanted to highlight one of the most colorful residents at Mesker Park Zoo!

Rojo, our Scarlet Macaw, is estimated to be around 38 years old, though her exact age is unknown due to being confiscated before finding a home here with us.

Scarlet Macaws are currently listed as Least Concern, but wild populations continue to decline due to habitat loss and illegal pet trading. Wildlife trafficking remains a serious threat to species around the world.

Next time you’re visiting the Enchanted Forest, stop by and say hello to Rojo. She’ll probably say hello to you, too. ❤️

PADDLE BOATS ARE BACK!! ☀️

Grab your crew and head down to the dock at Port Victoria to set sail (or at least pedaling in circles for a while).

Each 30-minute ride is just 3 tokens per rider, and tokens can be purchased at any of the token boxes throughout the zoo.

So if you’ve ever looked at our lake and thought, “I want to be out there,” this is your sign!

SAY HELLO TO BANDHU!! 👋

You may have already met him, but there’s nothing wrong with another introduction to this big guy!

Bandhu, our Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros, is a bit on the shy side. He loves spending time in his habitat, but if things get a little too loud, you might catch him making a surprisingly speedy exit. (For such a big animal, he can move when he wants to!)

Greater One-Horned Rhinos are listed as Vulnerable in the wild due to threats like poaching and habitat loss. Thanks to conservation efforts, their numbers have improved, but they still need our help and protection.

Next time you visit, stop by and say hello to Bandhu… just maybe use your indoor voice. 😉🦏

We had more than 1,000 members join us for an evening full of food trucks, live music, animal experiences, tours, and fun activities.

Seeing the zoo filled with so many smiling faces made the night incredibly special.
