I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees. 🌳

Except my name is Bogart, I have no trees, and I have several concerns.

Rescue is so much more than bringing them home. 🐾

It’s food. Medications. Preventatives. Vaccines. Vet visits. Emergency visits. Grooming. Training. Crates. Supplies. Cleaning products. And somehow… always another Chewy order.

Today’s glamorous rescue activity: making sure everybody is protected with their monthly preventatives. 💸😂

People see the before-and-after photos—the scared, neglected dog who eventually learns that the couch is theirs and humans can be safe. What they don’t always see is everything that happens in between.

Rescue is expensive. It’s exhausting. It takes an absolutely ridiculous amount of time, money, laundry, planning, and love.

But watching a dog who came to you scared, abandoned, neglected, or unwanted finally relax and realize “I live here. I’m safe here.”

That part makes all of this worth it. 🤍

(My bank account may disagree.)

Second trip to the ER in less than a week… different dog this time. 🫠

Tonight it’s Berlin’s turn. She’s getting a full workup after giving us a pretty terrifying scare, and while this is definitely not where I wanted to spend my Saturday night, I’m incredibly thankful to have VEG so close to home — and even more thankful to have an emergency team I genuinely trust with my dogs. 🖤

When you have a pack this big, you know the ER is eventually going to know you by name… I just didn’t expect us to speed-run that process this week. 😅

Here’s hoping Berlin’s diagnostics give us some answers, everything comes back boring, and the rest of TheOrlandogs collectively agree that we are DONE with medical emergencies for a while. 🤞🏻

Send our Dobie girl some love tonight. 🖤🐾
