I have always enjoyed creating new designs, then drafting and sewing the outfits; seeing them eventually come to life. I started with a sewing machine when I was 10 years old, and within a couple of years started making money with my sewing. I sold my first item to my junior high classmates. It was a clutch purse made from cloth placemats. After graduating college with a designing degree I started
my own business doing custom sewing, specializing in formal wear; wedding dresses; prom dresses; bridesmaid dresses; My biggest joy in this field came when I had my girls, as I got to design their nursery, make them toys, and design many of their outfits. (Now that they have grown, I am “on hold” until they get married and give me grandchildren for whom I can sew.) In the meantime, I opened my own business, which makes custom pet clothes. Two years ago, we brought a four-month Maltese, Henry, into our family. I made him a new outfit, then posted on Facebook, and since then, business has skyrocketed. Since August 2015 Kari’s Fancy Pups has become my full-time profession. I get to spend my time designing and creating dog outfits, which has been so much fun! I appear at several events a month selling them, and I also provide my creations on Facebook and Etsy, receiving orders from all over United States and internationally. I never thought my business would have grown this far in just a year; I can’t wait to see where my little puppy outfits take me. Thank you for all your support with your purchases. Gratefully,
