It's Fun Fact Friday! 🐾🐶
Have you heard the story of Hachikō? Hachikō was an akita dog who lived with his owner, Professor Hidesaburō Ueno in Tokyo, Japan in the 1920s. Every afternoon he would travel to the Shibuya Station to await his master's arrival on the train.
Tragically, Professor Ueno suffered a fatal medical emergency while at work and never returned home. Hachikō returned to the station every day for nearly ten years awaiting a master who would never come. Hachikō passed away in 1935, but his memory lives on in a magnificent bronze statue which sits in his favorite waiting spot to this day. A second statue was erected at the University of Tokyo, depicting Hachikō and Professor Ueno finally reuniting.
Hachikō's story is one that speaks of the unbreakable bond between a dog and its owner, and the unending loyalty of the pets we call our family.
We hope you enjoyed this themed month of Fun Fact Fridays! 🐾✨
