Today is World Veterinary Day and this year’s theme is “Animal health takes a team”. This couldn’t be more true. From the doctor to the nurses to the customer service reps to the clients!!! We are all in it for ONE reason and that is to take care of your pets💛 Staff- thank you for being such a small but mighty team and clients- thank you for trusting us with the care of your fur babies.

For heartworm awareness month I would like to introduce you to our friend, Tequila. 😍When I met her a few years ago she was diagnosed with heartworms. Most people don’t realize what the treatment for that involves. It consists of oral medications for a month, then deep injections into the spinal muscles a couple of months apart, which is quite painful and most of the time the dog needs to be sedated. (You can see the shaved patches in the beach photo) On top of all that, the dog must be on STRICT rest for 4-6 months, no running, no playing, while the heartworms are dying and circulating through the blood until they are tested again and are heartworm negative. All of this can be avoided by keeping your dog on heartworm prevention year round. Besides being a long, painful treatment, it is quite expensive compared to your monthly heartworm prevention. Tequila did her time and her mama made sure she remained calm for half a year and now you can see she is living her BEST life! Heartworm free!! Yay Tequila! ❤️😍

Spring is finally here! ❤️🌼 As excited as we are, it is also peek time for your pet to experience more itching and allergies. If your pet is itchy…they are uncomfortable. There is so much that can be done to help an animal with their allergies. Call the clinic if you are concerned.
