The hardest part of grooming is losing the senior ones. Its been a rough year so far for losing them. 2 within 24 hours over the weekend. Different families. They dont know it but when they go, they take a piece of my heart with them. I love them like they were my own. Its so much more than just grooming.

I will be out of town from July1st thru July 15th. I will TRY to respond to messages while I am away, but I cannot guarantee. My grandchildren will be going with me. I will have my hands full. It will be worth it because they can spend time with their great grandparents ❤️

Important announcement:

My trailer is currently down and in the shop since Monday for an ongoing hub problem. I had to have one replaced a couple of months ago. Turns out it was not the right one. Because it is so old, the hub it needs is no longer made.
So. My mechanic is swapping the axel.
It should be done by Thursday we hope.

New clients, I have to stress, if your dog is not accustomed to being groomed or puts up a battle during basic things such as brushing, combing, nail trimming, blow drying and nail clipping, please keep this in mind as to what can happen to me or your groomer and why I may refuse to rebook, and also why I will not lower my pricing to match the price of others. If you know your pet has issues, let us know! Most minor issues, we can work with! It helps to know in advance so we do not get injured. This is not an easy profession to be in! It is in no way comparable to having your hair done by your hair stylist. It is much more! I have been in this profession for 40 years.

I am one on one and I groom straight through. Being able to fully blow dry a dog is a must.

This is my arm from being clawed and scratched at because the dog was fearful of the blow dryer and fearful for the nail trim. Even though I went slow and easy, I still got beat up. It is painful and not part of my job.

Moral of the story:

If you have a new puppy that requires grooming, please start that puppy as soon as the puppy vaccines are done and keep it on a regular grooming schedule. Every 8 weeks or less. Every 6 weeks is the most common. Puppies are much easier to train for grooming than an adult dog that has never been groomed. Pet grooming should not be something a pet is afraid of. When they are afraid, they bite and scratch. We, as groomers, get injured.
Find the groomer that is the right fit for you and your pet and keep them! Your regular groomer bonds with them and forms a relationship with them as do the pets we work on bond with us. Your pet gets to know your groomer and their grooming routine making your pet much more comfortable and relaxed during the groom. ❤️
