Pickers,

Once again, we face a different kind of year here at the orchard. Our blueberry crop is not as bountiful as usual. The freeze in March took out all our early varieties and half of the later varieties of fruit.

We anticipate being open on:
June 5th
June 12th
Possibly June 19th

Picking hours on these dates will be 7:00AM - 12:00PM for those who wish to visit.

Due to COVID-19, we ask that you mask upon arrival and departure. Please maintain social distance protocol in the orchard, which is very easy to accomplish.

To reduce additional COVID-19 risk, buckets and belts will not be provided this year. We suggest beach buckets (sand castle sizes) for children, and for you crafty folks, check out YouTube for converting half-gallon milk cartons into containers.

IMPORTANT:

-Please CALL THE ORCHARD BEFORE YOU VISIT to make sure we have ripe fruit: (225) 683-1001
-Picking fee is $3.00 per person, ages two and older.
-Blueberries are $4.00 per pound (no pre-picked blueberries available this year). Average amount that most families pick is 5-10 lbs, more or less depending on the pickers and blueberry availability.
-Cash or check only. No credit cards accepted. Nearest ATM is 15 miles away.
-No pets, please!

The 2019 blueberry picking season has ended!

Miraculously, we managed to have four good Saturday morning picking days this year. The "daybreak picks" were well received and we will continue the early opening days in 2020.

It was great seeing so many familiar faces and a number of new ones. Being the optimist I am, it appears that the 2020 picking season will be a good one. The plants are putting on a lot of new growth already for next year.
