Hello all,

Due to the fact I’ve been getting calls, texts, and messages on almost a daily basis, I wanted to create a public post to let everyone know my taxidermy business is currently paused.

As some of you know, taxidermy has only been a part-time gig/hobby for me. I also had a beautiful baby girl born almost 2 years ago and enjoy spending time with her and my wife in the little free time I have away from my regular full-time job as an insurance agent trainer.

I am appreciative and flattered by everyone reaching out to inquire about having me work on your trophies. I will return to taxidermy again when time allows. It may be months or years.

In the meantime, I would recommend taking your trophies to Jeff Baker if you are in the Iowa Great Lakes area or Mike Stegmann & Cory Caruthers in Central Iowa. All three of these guys do great work and have won numerous awards.

-Marcus

Season is over and time to get back to mounting some birds. This bufflehead was a struggle as it was badly freezer burnt but I think I was able to salvage it. I will be spending the next month putting some pieces together for the Iowa Taxidermy Association competition at the end of March. Starting in April I’ll be putting together more client birds.
