Avian Health Shake Orders
Please order ahead. I know you all have animals needing AHS ASAP and I really appreciate your patronage and stories about the difference AHS makes. I am only one woman though, working 12-16 hours a day despite musculoskeletal issues. Avian Health Shake is all made by hand with great love and care by me, Julie. We have people that use it for just one bird to sanctuaries and rescues using it to rehab or lifelong care of multiple special needs/ elderly and injured birds so the work load at times is even more heavy. The product you receive was milled by me the day it ships to you.
We used to have a large mill I could use in the process but the company went out of business during COVID and we can not get new burrs for it, which require replacement every 1-2 years. Despite my many hours of phone calls and research trying to find someone with some or even trying to get someone to make them specifically for us to no avail. This more than tripled the time it takes me to make a batch of feed. I will not give up.
I will not stop making it for you all, all I can ask is plan ahead.
We have also tried to find a new commercial mill but the next closest mill would be over $15k, and that price was pre-tariffs... it would be $20-40k now depending on which mill we chose, none of the options are made in the USA, unfortunately. Our mill we can't get replacement burrs for was, with a lifetime warranty, which is worth nothing as the company closed. I have also tried to hire help for manufacturing shake and people do not want to do this kind physical labor.
If you have an URGENT need for AHS, please text me at 503-332-6956. I will do my best. AHS can be kept on hand for emergencies or pre-chick season by storing a batch in your freezer. Double bag it in freezer bags to protect flavor and aroma and it will be fresh for up to two years.
