Johnny got some handmades today. Slightly wedged medial branch and rolled lateral branch to accommodate for his conformation. He’s usually in a sidebone shoe but I’m getting my 3/4 fullered measurements dialed in for an upcoming contest.

An egg bar applied for lesions in the Deep Digital Flexor Tendon most likely caused by hyperextension. A heart bar applied to the opposite foot to help protect from possible founder due to overloading while taking stress off the injured limb. When an injury occurs, a competent vet/farrier/owner team is most important to insure the best recovery for the horse.

I’ve been working on this Tennessee Walking Horse that’s in his late 20’s for about 2 years now and it’s great to see how far he’s come. He was 4/5 lame, his suspensory ligament was giving out and his fetlock had fused. Now he’s giving kids lessons and enjoying his senior years.
