Dogs are man’s first and foremost friends. They are ideal companions and companions: intelligent, loyal, faithful and obedient. We genuinely love dogs and... they seem to reciprocate. Quite sincerely. Let’s see, what is the love of a dog for its master?
Do dogs really love their owners? Yes, science has answered this question in the affirmative. Emory University (USA) conducted a unique experiment using a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine. Animals were placed in the machine. Well, and all that is necessary, recorded impassive sensors. Next - the most interesting thing. The experimental dogs communicated with other dogs, strangers and, of course, their own masters. And it was contacts with their owners that activated the work of the brain area “responsible” for pleasure and enjoyment. That, in fact, allowed us to put a point to this question. Now we know that a dog’s master is everything.
Maybe it’s hunger. That’s right - dogs feel joy when they are with their owners. But why shouldn’t they - who else but their owners feed and care for them? The study we mentioned above was the result of a worm of doubt that had settled in the hearts of scientists.
Let’s listen to the famous scientist, Dr. Gregory Berns, one of the initiators of “that very” study: “A year ago, my beloved dog, a pug named Newton, died. We were friends, and I was truly mourning his loss. But suddenly I had a thought - and what, in fact, was the basis of our friendship? I spared nothing for Newton - tasty food, treats were always at his disposal. Maybe it was the treats that did it?
The story will continue.
