SAFETY RULES and PROCEDURES
Facility hours are 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. Boarders/Clients are permitted to ride only in stated hours unless otherwise arranged with the owners and confirmed in writing. Boarders must make appointments to visit their horse(s) after hours. No smoking in the barns. Dogs are welcome, but must be supervised and are not allowed in the arenas, pastures or aisles wh
en horses are present. Do not feed the horses anything unless you are the owner of the horse. Horses must me led by a halter and lead line at all times and must be kept on a lead line/lunge line/bridle with reins in the arena if other horses are present. Pick up any manure left by your horse outside of its stall, such as the aisles and wash stall. Sweep aisles immediately after you are done. Do not use equipment or property that is not your own. Do not borrow any equipment without the owner’s permission. Respect all staff, clients, guests or parents. If anyone is being disruptive/disrespectful you will be asked to leave the premises. Turn off all lights and close all doors before leaving. If you turn it on, turn it off. If you open it then you must close it.If you unlock it then you must lock it. No running, jumping, yelling, screaming, climbing or horseplay in the barns or on the premises. Do not enter a horse’s stall without the owner’s permission. All riders must wear a boot with a heel when riding. No sneakers/muck boots/clogs allowed when mounted. No open-toed shoes/sandals allowed in the barn or pastures. Do not ride without safety equipment. If you are 18 or younger NYS law requires you to wear a securely fastened ASTM/SEI certified helmet. No student may mount a horse unless supervised. Never lead a horse under the cross-ties in the aisle way. Owners may not handle any equine other than their without the owner’s permission. No visitors are allowed in the stalls or pastures. Boarders may enter the pastures to retrieve only the horse they own. Any costs or expenses associated with damage to the facility or property, unless normal wear and tear, caused either directly or indirectly by a client or their horse will be the sole responsibility of the client or horse owner.
