HANA'S EQUINE EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Hana learned to ride growing up on her parent’s horse farm, Highland Dressage, in Falmouth, Maine. Hana started riding at around 4 years old and her principal instructors were her mother, Michal Rogers Gould and her father, Lawrence Poulin. Hana’s paternal family also includes Michael Poulin, Bronze Medalist for the USA Olympic Team in 1

992. Hana’s mother has been the recipient of numerous award for dressage and carriage driving competitions and has guided Hana through her teenage and adult years of dressage and driving competitions. HANA’S EXPERIENCE
As a child, Hana trained her Welsh Cob pony, Panadama Merri Bell, “Cricket”, in driving and riding. Together they competed in pleasure driving and single pony combined driving in the USA and Canada. The pair was awarded the Canadian classic Best Junior Driver and New England Welsh Cob champion. Cricket and Hana also won the combined driving reserve Champion at the Laurels in Unionville, Pa. Until recently Cricket was with Hana and was used as a school master pony for riding and driving. Unfortunately, Cricket passed away in September of 2020 at the age of 31. Hana graduated from Unity College in 2006, and considered a career in environmental science but horses were in her blood. In 2011, Hana made her FEI debut earning her United States Dressage Federation, USDF, Bronze and Silver Medals. In 2012 Hana purchased Agamemnon Da Raposa, ‘Agi’ an 8 year old Lusitano imported from Brazil. New England Dressage Association (NEDA) championship awards with Agi include fifth place at First Level Adult Amateur (AA), sixth place at Second Level Open, second place at Third Level Open, fourth place at Fourth Level NEDA Championships Sweepstakes Open Class. The pair plans to continue to compete in 2021 at the FEI level. To better understand all aspects of dressage both, performance and judging, Hana started the ‘L’ judge program. In 2014 Hana started working with Sable Oak Equestrian Center and Sherrye Johnson-Trafton. Here Hana worked as an assistant trainer, riding instructor and driving instructor. This ongoing experience has taught her the basics of Western Riding, among many other things. Continuing her passion for dressage Hana trained numerous horses and ponies of various breeds to drive single, as a pair and under saddle in and out of Sable Oak Equestrian Center. Hana competed a 4 year old green broke Fjord gelding, named Brittas Chance, owned by Melanie and Clint Wallace of Whispering Willow Fjords Farm, located in Woolwich Maine. Chance was a pony with little to no training for driving or riding. Under Hana’s tutelage for a period of one month, Chance and Hana were awarded single pony champion at The Maine Event located in Skowhegan Maine in 2015. In Tunica, Mississippi Hana competed with Mimosa and Flirtini, a gypsy pair owned by Bob and Kate Reed of Dungarvan Feather Farm located in Connecticut. The gypsy pair won all classes they were entered in. One class entered was a versatility class. The driving pair versatility challenge included going over a tarp, maneuvering through cones and opening a mailbox. Hana created her own business Hana Poulin Dressage & Driving LLC in 2016. During this time Hana continued to travel throughout Maine and New England helping clients with riding and driving instruction or other equine assistance. In 2017 Hana leased a portion of Sable Oak Equestrian Center where she built a successful boarding, training and lesson program. After building such a successful program that encompassed Mid-coast and Southern Maine Hana decided to purchase a farm with Jessica S. Matson in Epping, New Hampshire. July of 2019 Moonlight Equestrian Center was established. Hana’s facilities at Moonlight Equestrian Center, includes a full size indoor arena, with an accompanying outside arena. Two barns housing 16 stalls. There 3 run out sheds all on eleven acres of land of which 8 acres are dedicated to pasture. The center has access to trails ponds and lovely gardens. Hana is known as the “Mary Poppins” of horse training. She is constantly looking for the causes of any equine difficulty in temperament, feeding, care, and/or training, among others. She finds creative and working solutions to solve these and many other horse related issues. EQUINE TRAINING AND INSTRUCTION

🚨 HISTORY WAS MADE... BUT ALMOST NO ONE EXPECTED THIS MOMENT.

For decades, Anderson Cooper has reported some of the world's biggest stories.

He's interviewed presidents.
Covered wars.
Guided millions through moments that shaped history.

But this time, the spotlight wasn't on the news.

It was on him.

When Anderson Cooper was recognized as one of TIME Magazine's "100 Most Influential People of 2026," many expected a polished speech and a celebration of success.

What happened instead left the room completely silent.

As he walked toward the stage, there were no dramatic gestures. No attempt to command attention.

Then came a brief exchange—and a single statement—that instantly changed the atmosphere.

"The truth is what lasts forever."

Those six words seemed to hit the audience harder than any prepared speech could have.

Witnesses say the mood in the room shifted almost immediately.

What happened next is why people can't stop talking about this moment.

It takes incredible courage to show up as your authentic self every single day, especially in a world that often demands we blend in. 🌈✨

I was recently struck by these powerful words from Anderson Cooper: "I think being gay is one of the great blessings of my life, and it’s made me a better person; it’s made me a better reporter."

For many of us, the journey hasn't been easy. We have all faced moments where we felt pressured to hide parts of who we are just to make others comfortable. But reading this is a vital reminder that what makes us different is exactly what makes us valuable. It is our unique perspectives that allow us to see the world with more empathy and deeper understanding.

I am standing with Anderson today in celebrating the power of authenticity. Whether you are part of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally who believes that everyone deserves to live their truth without apology, I would love to see you sound off in the comments.

Let’s fill this space with positivity and support. Drop a "❤️" or share a word of encouragement below if you agree that living your truth is a blessing! Let’s show the world how much power there is in being unapologetically you. 👇

"🚨 AMERICA IN TURBULENCE: ANDERSON COOPER'S STATEMENTS ON LGBT CAUSE SOCIAL MEDIA STORM?

A fierce debate is erupting on social media after veteran journalist Anderson Cooper's statements about children needing access to diverse cultures and social perspectives, including the LGBT community, went viral.

🔥 SEE DETAILS OF HIS STATEMENT AND THE WAVE OF PROTESTS HERE: https://countrysoulstories.com/media-firestorm-erupts-after-television-hosts-comments-spark-national-debate-on-children-culture-and-free-speech/

According to shared posts, Cooper argues that preventing children from accessing LGBT-related content could be seen as a form of exclusion for a community within society.

🔥 Immediately, this statement generated two fiercely opposing viewpoints:

👉 One side argues that children need access to societal diversity to learn to respect differences.

👉 The other side asserts that the right to decide on their children's education belongs to parents and opposes introducing sensitive topics to children too early.

Within hours, a series of debates erupted on Facebook, X, and TikTok. Related hashtags constantly appeared in the hottest discussion topics, attracting millions of interactions.

📌 Notably, the controversy is no longer centered around a single personal statement, but is expanding into a confrontation over free speech, children's education, and changing cultural values in the United States.

Is this a step forward for a more open society or a sign of a deepening divide in American society?

💬 What are your thoughts on this issue?

"Anderson Cooper's greatest lesson didn't come from success... it came from family tragedy." 💔

Growing up in one of America's most famous families didn't protect Anderson Cooper from heartbreak.

Behind the wealth, headlines, and legacy were losses that shaped his life forever — including the tragic death of his brother and the struggles that haunted generations before him.

Now, as a father himself, Anderson says those painful experiences have taught him one powerful lesson:

❤️ Love your children openly.
❤️ Tell them what they mean to you.
❤️ Never assume they'll always know.

For Anderson, fatherhood isn't about continuing a family legacy.

It's about breaking cycles, healing old wounds, and giving his sons something every child deserves — unconditional love.

Raise your hand if you have ever run out to the paddock in a panic because your foal was lying flat out and not moving. 🙋

We see you. We have been there. 😅

Here is your reassurance: newborn foals sleep up to 12 hours a day, and like all horses, they need to lie completely flat to get true REM sleep. The difference is that foals need so much more of it — their rapidly developing brains and immune systems depend on it. Adult horses only need about 2–3 hours of sleep a day and spend far less time lying down. So when you see your foal stretched out in the sun like they own the place — that is a great sign. It means they feel safe and they are getting exactly the rest they need to grow. 💙

As they get older, they sleep less and spend more time on their feet. Adult horses only sleep about 2–3 hours a day!

The one thing to watch for: a foal that is sleeping too much AND not nursing, or that is hard to wake up, could be a sign something is wrong. When in doubt, call your vet. But a healthy foal who nurses well and then flops over for a nap? That is just a baby being a baby. 🥹

Has your foal ever given you a scare like this? Drop a 🙋 in the comments!
