As we approach fireworks season, we’d like to remind clients who may need sedative or anti-anxiety medications for their pets to please contact our office as soon as possible.

To approve and fill sedative medication requests, pets must have a current physical exam on file:
• Pets over 8 years of age must have had a full physical exam within the past 6 months
• Pets under 8 years of age must have had a full physical exam within the past year.

To allow adequate time for processing, all sedative medication requests must be submitted by June 29th, 2026.

Please Join Us in Welcoming Dr. Melanie McCoury to Country Animal Hospital!

We are excited to welcome Dr. Melanie McCoury to the Country Animal Hospital team!

Dr. McCoury is a 1988 graduate of Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine and brings many years of experience in general practice, emergency, and urgent care medicine. She is Fear Free and Human–Animal Bond Certified and believes strongly in partnering with pet owners through education, clear communication, and compassionate care.

As a proud Enumclaw resident, Dr. McCoury is deeply connected to our Plateau community. She lives locally with her family, two Australian Shepherds, a sassy cat, and four horses. She breeds, trains, and competes in dressage and working equitation — a passion that reflects her lifelong love of animals and dedication to their wellbeing.

Dr. McCoury is honored to join a hospital with such a long legacy of caring for the animals of our community and looks forward to meeting you and your pets.

She is now available Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you would like to schedule a preventative or wellness visit, or have a medical concern and need an appointment, we would love to help you get on her schedule.
