If you have been following our page, you know about our devastating fire in January 2026.
One surviving miracle story was our pot-bellied pig named “Petunia.”
Earlier this week, my oldest grandson and I were spending some time “talking” to Petunia.
It’s nothing unusual for us to talk to all our animals as if they understand our conversations.
This day, it went something like this…
Me: “Petunia, can’t you please tell us how you escaped that horrible fire?”
Griffin: (in his pig voice) “Oh Gigi… you see, it’s simple… I saw a glimpse of Light, and I followed it!”
I shared this at church tonight, and it is worth repeating.
In that moment, my grandson preached one of the best messages I have ever heard.
As we go through so much in this life, we probably feel just like Petunia. We may feel like everything is crashing down around us. We may wonder how we will survive. We need rescuing from our problems.
There is one answer… follow the Light.
Jesus is the Light!
He is able to make a way of escape.
Just as the three Hebrew boys said in Daniel 3:17-18:
“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”
No matter what comes or goes… we will serve God.
John 8:12 says: “When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”
Follow the Light.

Remembering Us!

Yesterday we had a beautiful Memorial Day service at church.

Never has it “hit” me quite like it did this year.
I realize this holiday is to remember those heroes — our military personnel who died while serving. But the songs and message at church caused so many memories of my time with military families and friends to come flooding back.

We don’t have military in our immediate family, but over the past 17 years, through petting zoo visits and parties, I have had the privilege of meeting, loving, and becoming dear friends with so many military families.
I cannot express the love, honor, and respect I have gained for them all.

Yes, we lost the zoo in the tragic fire on January 29, 2026. But yesterday revealed to me that I lost much more than buildings, animals, keepsakes, and supplies…
I also lost precious opportunities to spend time with many wonderful families who became part of my life over the years.

To encourage myself, I must hold tightly to the beautiful memories we made together.
Today, I thank God for every military family and service member I have been blessed to know through the years.
Philippians 1:3
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you”

If you are military, especially if you have been stationed at Fort Rucker, which is our close neighbor, and remember the good times we shared, please drop me a note just to say hello. I would love to hear from you.

Exciting update on the farm! 🤍

Ricky Hutto, owner of H & H Equipment located on Main Street in Enterprise, called me the week of the tragic fire. He had seen on the news that our petting zoo and party venue was a total loss.
I recall our conversation vividly. He said, “Stephie, may I come out to the farm?” Of course, I said yes.

You see, the Hutto family and the Whigham family (my maiden name) have been friends for many years.
There were many farming businessmen who were dear friends to my daddy, and Ricky Hutto was one of the main ones he always turned to for advice.
Ricky was also a pallbearer at Daddy’s funeral.

With Daddy being gone, Ricky showed such a kind heart and told me he wanted to help us. He was always encouraging me with the zoo. He believed in it for the entire 17 years!

Today, I’m so thankful to share with our zoo friends and followers the incredible gift from Ricky.

A beautiful pole barn has now been put up, and I am ecstatic about it! Our next plans are to build bathrooms.

Please continue praying that God will open doors daily and provide for His perfect plan to be accomplished on our 121-year-old family farm.

We desire to continue sharing our blessing with all of you.
And if you are downtown, stop by H & H Feeds and thank Ricky again for his kindness and generosity! ❤️

Matthew 19:26
"Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Today marks 90 days since the devastating fire that destroyed our petting zoo and party barn.

There are so many people we still need to thank.
To each and every one of you who has walked this journey with us—please know how deeply we appreciate you.

If you’ve ever visited the zoo, you may remember the large boots that hung on the wall beside the pony rides. I wish I had a picture of them. For 17 years, they carried a simple message: “We Walk By Faith.”

Now, with 17 years behind us and 90 days into starting over, I want to say it again—we STILL walk by faith.

2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Stay tuned.

As my granddaughter reminded me yesterday…
“Ain’t He faithful, GiGi?”
Yes… He is.

Blessings ❤️

The lumber has been delivered—just a small amount for now. I told the driver I wish he could leave the whole truckload so we could really get moving!
But in the meantime, we’re rejoicing over the “little.”
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…” — Zechariah 4:10 (NLT)
Thank you all for standing with us after the fire. Every step forward matters, and we’re grateful for each one.

During cleanup after the zoo fire, Sheree from Highpointe Church found a tiny cross-shaped jewel in the debris and gave it to me. It felt so special—like a small reminder of hope—so I saved it, planning to make it
into a form of jewelry as a reminder.

Later, it went missing. I searched everywhere and was heartbroken.

But in that moment, I felt the Lord gently remind me: “Don’t look FOR the cross… look TO the cross.”

HIS message was loud and clear!
Instant peace filled my heart. Even in loss, He redirected my focus back to Jesus—the true source of hope and strength.

“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…” – Hebrews 12:2

Our faith isn’t anchored in objects or even moments, but in a relationship with Jesus Christ!

Cross shown in the picture below. It was so tiny that we placed it on my cellphone to show everyone. I'm so glad I have this picture.

Blessings!

It has now been 61 days since the tragic fire—truly some of the longest days of our lives.
We want to pause and say thank you to each and every one of you who has shown us such incredible kindness. Week after week, you continue to show up for us. Whether through donations, calls, prayers, emails, texts, visits, cards, private messages, or simply a heartfelt hug when we see you around town—we feel your love, and we are deeply grateful.
I have prayed many times that God would bless you all abundantly, and I truly believe He will.
“ I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.”
— Philippians 1:3
This feels like the only way we can truly express our gratitude.
We are taking things one day at a time. Some doors God is opening, and others He has closed. It’s not for us to question, but to trust and follow His guidance.
We ask for your continued prayers as we move forward.

A childhood friend recently visited and brought a donation after the January fire—but she also brought something I will cherish forever.
It was a bulletin from a Graduation Ceremony at Fort Rucker, and on the back, Two by Two Petting Zoo was listed as one of just three featured attractions in Enterprise—alongside the Boll Weevil Monument and Johnny Henderson Family Park.

After 17 years, it meant so much to see the impact we’ve had—not just locally, but especially with the military families from Fort Rucker.
That’s one of the biggest reasons we’re so committed to rebuilding.

If you feel led to help, there are a few ways you can make a difference:
• Continue to pray for our journey forward
• Share our story with others
• Consider donating to help us recover and rebuild
• Reach out to local and state officials to advocate for resources and support for rebuilding community spaces like ours.

Your voice, your prayers, and your support truly matter more than you know.

We are moving forward with faith and determination—thank you for standing with us.

Precious Memories!

I’ve met thousands of people over the years at Two By Two Petting Zoo and Party Venue, but every now and then, one memory rises above the rest.

This morning, I woke up thinking about one very special day back in 2013…
It was a busy day in the barn, full of families and laughter. I was doing what I always loved—walking around, talking with guests, and introducing them to the animals. I came across a lady standing by the chickens and struck up a conversation, asking where she was from.

Her answer completely stopped me in my tracks.

She asked, “Did you happen to see the news about Prince William and Kate’s new baby boy George being born?”

Of course I had!

Then she said something I will never forget…
“I came from right behind that door in the picture. I’m a nurse there.”

She had been at St. Mary’s Hospital in London—right there at the Lindo Wing—where baby George had just been introduced to the world.

And now… here she was… standing in our little barn on our family farm in Enterprise, Alabama.

I remember blurting out (probably a little too loudly!),
“And TODAY you are at Two By Two in Enterprise, Alabama!!!”

In that moment, it truly felt like we had royalty right there with us.

Her family was stationed at Fort Rucker, and she was just visiting—but what a blessing that visit turned out to be.
She had come from seeing one of the world’s most famous “babies”… to spending time with all of ours.

I’ve often wished I had taken a picture that day. But then again, some moments are meant to be held in the heart.

Even after the fire, when everything was lost, memories like this remind me just how blessed we were—and still are.

I believe it’s the major contrast.

One moment, that nurse is part of a globally watched royal birth at St Mary's Hospital, and the next, she’s standing in a barn in Alabama, smiling at chickens and baby animals.

Ain't God good???
