We did something exciting 🩷🐾🩷

Meet Sadie, our new little Shihtzu!

Our Shihtzu Hercules is 15 years old now. And with all of his three brothers and sister passing from old age this past year...Bella, Jackson, Marbles...he began to decline after Marbles' passing.

The exuberant kisses and attention of the Aussies for him are too much for this old fella, so we thought another Shihtzu would fit right in with him. And little Sadie has Hercules already!

Good thoughts and prayers please that Sadie gives our Hercules a perk in his step for many, many more days ahead.

🐾 NO, we are not breeding Shihtzus now. Sadie has a personal purpose in sharing life with our Hercules.

♡ A puppy is an individual, not a blank slate...

Every puppy comes home with their own personality, natural instincts, strengths, and quirks. Some are bold. Some are thoughtful. Some are outgoing. Some prefer to observe before jumping in.

While we place tremendous value on calm, connected family temperaments, we also respect the genetics and instincts that make an Australian Shepherd an Australian Shepherd. They were bred to think, watch, investigate, learn, and stay deeply connected to their people.

The goal isn't to change who they are—it's to help shape those natural traits through patience, guidance, and understanding, allowing them to mature into the loyal, cherished family companion they were always meant to become.

The happiest relationships often happen when we stop asking, "How do I make this puppy fit my expectations?" and start asking, "How do I help this puppy become the very best version of themselves?"

Puppies need leadership, consistency, patience, and time to mature. And sometimes the little quirks that challenge us today become the very things we love most about them tomorrow ♡

♡ Special Consideration Placement ♡ Please read if interested in these two cuties...

Honor appears to have significant hearing impairment, which can occasionally occur in puppies with excessive white pigmentation.

While he is a happy, social, and engaging little boy, we are moving forward under the assumption that he may be deaf or partially deaf.

Honor is quite attached to his sister Haven, we would love to find that special home where they can be placed together. We are seeking a thoughtfully prepared companion home that understands the unique communication and training needs of hearing-impaired dogs.

Deaf dogs are still capable of living incredibly full, connected, joyful lives and often bond very deeply with their families through visual communication, routine, and touch-based interaction.

Honor and Haven will be placed together at a reduced companion price to the right home, with continued support from us along the way.

About Haven:

This darling little girl is soft, expressive, curious, and already full of personality. Between her thoughtful eyes and fluffy little teddy bear look, she has the kind of presence that quietly pulls people in.

Rather than posing for the camera, Haven spent most of her session exploring, wiggling, and taking in the world around her — which tells us quite a bit about her growing personality already.

She’s a very special little girl who dearly loves her brother.

Note: This is not a double merle breeding. Both parents are S/S, and the sire is m/m (non-merle). While the dam is a harlequin merle, we do not currently have a definitive genetic explanation for the amount of white present in this puppy.
