🐀A little trial update🐀

A bit behind in posting for Barn Hunt updates. In February Brooklyn earned her first Master’s Q and placing first in her class! Which was completely unexpected for it being our first ever Master’s run not knowing how many rats we are searching for and 100% trusting your dog. I believe the total rats found at that trial was 4.

Today we ran our second ever Master’s trial and got another Q! This time there was only 1 rat for her to find and she placed 3 in her class! Now we are only 3 Q’s away from our Master’s title! Also today in our Crazy 8’s run Brooklyn found all 8 rats that were hidden for the first time! Super proud of the dog she has become in this sport 🩵

First trial & title of 2025!

Brooklyn earned her RATS title yesterday! Which is 3 Qs in the Senior division in barn hunt where she had to find 4 rats climb and tunnel before time runs out! She got a first and second place run in her size class! I’m so proud of her, Masters here we come!!

🐀 Barn Hunt weekend recap! 🐀

Team Brooklyn had 3 open trials this weekend. We got a Q in all our runs which earned her RATO title!! I’m so incredibly proud of her for such amazing runs this weekend. We also played crazy 8’s and she earned 50 points towards her crazy 8 title!

We haven’t done barn hunt since April and she jumped right in and let everyone in the blind knew she was READY 🫣 I’m so happy we’ve worked on our tunnel command over the past few months and today all that worked showed because she tunneled when told!! 🥳
Her fastest run of the weekend was 45 seconds!! She got 2 1st place runs and a 2nd place run. I’m so proud of my speedy girl 🩵🧡

Thank you so much Central K9 for always having such fun and smooth events! And thank you to Jess for always pushing me to do what’s best for my dog and as always “train don’t complain” ❤️

Although dock season is over, we have so many other sports we can do over the winter! This weekend we have Barn Hunt!

Today Brooklyn ran her first Open run. In open she has 2.5 minutes to find 2 🐀, tunnel a 90° turn tunnel, and climb up on a hay bale. She placed 1st in her class (by size) with a run of 58.79 seconds! We also did crazy 8’s and she found 5/8 rats.

Can’t wait to see how she does tomorrow! We have 2 more open runs!

📣Nationals Recap📣
Brooklyn swam hydro dash yesterday she got another new PERSONAL BEST of 15.227!! She placed 20th out of 56 Master dogs, only top 15 got an invite to finals but I’m still very happy where she placed and incredibly proud of her getting new personal bests at Nationals just like she did last year. I can’t say enough how I’m am so incredibly proud of Brooklyn’s progress on the dock this year and I can’t wait to see how this next season goes! Thank you so much for everyone’s support! We love you all 🩵🧡

📣Last chance qualifier recap📣
We did AR for LCQ, I was hopeful maybe we’d give it a shot and see how it went. AR is new to Brooklyn this year so anything she does makes me proud.

Today she got a new personal best of 16 feet!! She ended up placing 15th in her division which is also really big in my mind for a last chance qualifier, but only the top 5 were invited to nationals. Either way I’m super proud of her and that’s huge of her to get a new personal best at nationals! 🩵🧡

Tomorrow we will be competing in Hydro dash on pool 5 with a rough estimate time of 12:30pm (1:30pm EST) here is the link to the live stream! I will try to update when we are close to going up on the dock!

We are a few hours into our drive to Missouri! So excited to be attending Nationals for the second year in a row! We have grown so much this season and it’s really paid off!

Exactly one week until we leave for Missouri to nationals! I’m so excited and just a bit nervous 😅 Brooklyn & I can’t wait to see and cheer everyone on!

We compete in LCQ for Air retrieve on Wednesday 10/24 starting at 8am at pool 4. Hydro dash is on Thursday 10/25 will update with more information when I have it!

This past weekend we had our last home dock event of the year (jumps counted for the 2025 season). Brooklyn earned her Dock Senior Excellent 2 title which is 80 distance jumps in the Senior division! This also earned Brooklyn a Distance invite to the 2025 Regionals!

Starting off the 2025 season well with 1/3 invites to regionals to start! Can’t wait until dock starts back up again and see how much more we grow!

Next stop, NATIONALS!! 🧡🩵

This will be our last home competition until next season! Can’t wait to see what the 2025 dock season brings!

Regionals 2024!

First I wanna thank everyone for their support through the season! You guys mean a lot to us

Brooklyn jumped a 15.7 in hydro dash, distance 19 feet, and air retrieve her final grab was 15 feet which is only the second time she’s ever grabbed a 15! She also earned her hydro dash master and air retrieve senior titles this weekend!

I couldn’t be more proud of my girl. We started off these season with Brooklyn in the senior division for distance and hydro and she continued to blow me away and swim into master division for both mid season! Although it kinda bummed me out thinking how she’d be at the bottom of masters for regionals. I am very proud of her and myself for working together to get better and better as a team! I always say it but a big thank you to Jessica Edgerly for all your help making us the team we have become and continue to grow from here on out. And a big shout out to all my friends for always being here to cheer us on and support us and a big thank you to the Central K9 team for making regionals go smoothly and everything you do to make all these events so much fun! I’m so glad to be apart of such a supportive team🥹❤️

Now fingers and paws crossed we see a nationals invite!
