R.I.P. Lucky
We adopted our incredible dog Lucky way back in 2010. I’m sorry to say that on Memorial Day he started to have labored breathing and a loss of motor skills late at night and we took him to a 24 hour emergency care place and unfortunately had to put him to sleep with all four of us by his side. He was such a good boy and beloved family member, and all of us are struggling and miss him so much. Thank you for all you do. He was such an awesome dog. Here’s his puppy photo. R.I.P. Hank
Hank came to us in 2014 and he settled in within just a few minutes as if he had already lived here. Sadly, last month, his health quickly failed and he had to leave us for the rainbow bridge. He was truly the greatest dog we EVER had! A gentle giant at 95 lbs, he was super intelligent, so well-behaved, always happy and gave us so much joy every day through the 11 years that we were blessed to have him as our own. He loved being with his people and spending time in the backyard right up to the woods, where he dutifully protected us from every furry interloper he spotted. He loved napping, car rides, sunny spots, kids, pumpkin, chicken, Dentastix, unstuffing toys and breaking apart sticks. He was such a handsome boy and loved by all. We miss him dearly and will forever. Thank you, Mike and everyone at the Rescue for the greatest dog Cliff & Cheryl Soloff / Valley Cottage NY

R.I.P. Maggie
It is with enormous sadness that I have to tell you that we had to put Maggie to sleep just a few hours ago. Evan and I are devastated. She lost control of her bowels during the last few days. Her mind didn’t know anymore when she had to defecate. The vet said that weakness in her spine was also a contributing factor to the loss of bowel control. Evan and I want her to live in dignity and without suffering, so we made the unbelievably hard decision to let our 14 year old Best Dog Ever return to the Lord today. We thank you all for giving us the best dog in the world. We wouldn’t change a thing and we would do all of it all over again if we could. With gratitude always, Karen & Evan Golann / Sunderland MA

R.I.P. Maggie
I adopted Maggie from you in 2010 and she died several months ago at the age of 15 years and 3 months. She brought so much love to everyone who met her and was a central part of my life. We hiked, swam, walked and she loved my violin students who came to my house for lessons. Her loss is huge and I miss her every day. Thank you for bringing her into my life. Here is her “baby picture.” Barbara Oren / Lexington MA

Things are going very well with Nicki. She gets along with everyone and is always so excited to meet new people. She’s great in the house and car. We just got back from a trip to Gettysburg and she had a blast taking hikes and meeting lots of other dogs. We even visited the Tennessee monument since Nicki is from Memphis! Thanks so much for everything! Mike Oudersluys / Milford NJ

Major is doing great! He has learned sit, lay down, stay, and paw (both paws). We are working on a couple behaviors he is having but I assume it’s due to the rehoming and will go away with time and training. He’s a great dog! Thanks for checking in. Cortney McKenney / Windsor Locks CT

Emma was rescued with her puppies from beneath an abandoned house in Memphis. She’s now in her forever home and here’s a heartwarming update!

“I’m so happy to tell you what an amazing match we are! It's been about a month and she is everything I was told and more than I expected.

I had to get her used to a leash for our walks and after 3 weeks I tried taking her off leash in our walking paths, parks & woods with a ton of dogs and she's doing amazing! She comes when I call but only after she's had her play time. The good news is the other owners understand and it's like 1 big play group! When I want to walk without the distraction, she comes back at a gallop like the attach picture. I'm so pleased with her progress & impressed with het intelligence.

In the house, she's so quiet. She loves getting cozy in her crate which I do not shut her in anymore. Even when I have to leave her to go coach she is great. I have found a fleece blanket with a shredded edge and a wool blanket with a perfect hole in the middle. So I remove the ones I care about and leave her with the fleece...she's still a puppy at 2yrs. But she won't chew any toys I give her. It's all good.

I bring her to my church office, she's great resting in her bed and exploring with me but still timid and unsure of so many noises. She's been great with office visitors, giving them the sniff test and the leaving them alone. She was great with the youth group kids, they loved her.

All I all, we are a PERFECT match and I couldn't be happier. We are so very happy...many thanks & blessings. Lisa Cleverdon / Amesbury MA”
