Dogust Spotlight: Pudge!

Meet Pudge — and no, he doesn’t control the weather with peanut butter like the fish from Lilo & Stitch, but he does believe the world should revolve around love, attention, and belly rubs!

This sweet five-year-old boy came back to us when his previous family could no longer manage his medical needs. When Pudge arrived, he was struggling with severe allergies and inflamed skin. But with some TLC and medical attention, his skin has made an amazing recovery — and now he’s ready to find his perfect match.

Pudge is equal parts cuddly and energetic, and he’s looking for a family who can keep up with his zest for life and his need for affection.

Pudge would thrive in a home with children 13 and older and might even enjoy a canine sibling, pending a successful meet-and-greet.

Dogust Spotlight: Quill the Gentle Gentleman!

This Dogust, we’re on the search for someone special — could it be you?

Meet Quill, a sweet and soulful pup who’s already shown us just how wonderful he can be in a loving home. He’s looking for a foster or adopter to give him the second chance he truly deserves.

Quill has spent time in a foster home, and his foster mom had nothing but glowing things to say:
“Quill is the easiest dog I’ve ever had. He’s cuddly, well-mannered, and has the gentlest mouth—he’s amazing! He loves walks, occasional zoomies, and is always up for a good chest scratch.”

Quill is looking for a calm home with no other pets, and due to housing restrictions, cannot live in communal housing. He would also do best in a home with children 13 and older who can match his gentle, laid-back vibe.

Dogust Spotlight: Hattie!

Say hello to Hattie — a six-year-old sweetheart with a nose for adventure and a serious love for snacks! This lovely lady came to Animal Friends through our Humane Investigations Team and has been showing us just how much she enjoys the little things in life — like sniffing every blade of grass and charming staff for extra treats.

Hattie knows what she likes and isn’t afraid to let you know when she needs her space, so she’s looking for a home with dog-savvy humans 13 and up who can respect her boundaries and read her cues. She’ll also need to be the only pet in her home — she prefers her kingdom all to herself.

This two-year-old guy came to Animal Friends as a stray and is now ready for a fresh start in a loving home. He is a quiet and reserved guy. He enjoys munching on greens and exploring his space. This adorable guy enjoys being petted. He is truly as sweet as his namesake. He loves to explore and show off with a binky or two. After a busy day, his favorite spot to snooze is on a cozy and comfy blanket.

Celebrate Dogust with MooMoo!

Meet MooMoo — a spirited and lovable two-year-old pup who’s bursting with energy and personality. This high-octane cutie came to us as an owner surrender after his previous home just wasn’t the right fit. Now he’s ready to find his perfect match. Look at that face, he is ready for a birthday treat.

With his black-and-white fur, MooMoo earned his name thanks to his moo-velous cow-like markings. He’s still got that puppy zest and is learning how to channel his excitement into good boy behavior. While he’s working on finding his balance, one thing’s for sure: life with MooMoo will never be boring.

MooMoo does have some separation anxiety, so he’ll benefit from a structured three-week foster-to-adopt period to help ease the transition into his forever home. He’d thrive in a household with children six years and older, and he might enjoy a canine companion pending a successful meet and greet.

Happy DOGust!

Did you know that DOGust 1st is the universal birthday for shelter dogs without known birthdates? Many of our amazing canine residents came to us with stories we may never fully know — but what we do know is that every dog deserves to feel special and celebrated. So why stop at just one day?

All month long, we're celebrating DOGUST — a month-long birthday bash for our shelter dogs who've already celebrated their first birthday. From August 1 through August 31, requested adoption donations are completely waived for all dogs over one year of age.
