was established in May 2004 and is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Our purpose is to save the lives of neglected, abandoned, abused or owner surrendered domesticated animals and provide lifetime loving homes through adoptions to qualified parents. We provide proper medical care, food, shelter, socialization, rehabilitation and lots of love for our animals. Our goal is to find that special loving,

lifetime home that each one deserves. If we are not able to find a suitable home for one, they will always have a home with EGHS for their life.

It’s time to start planning for our 13th Southside Virginia Dog Show which will be held May 18, 2024 at the Golden Leaf Commons. Plans are underway and more information will be coming soon for registration of dogs for the show. This is also be a very special show as EGHS will be celebrating their 20th year anniversary. More information about tickets also will be coming soon. Hope you will come out and celebrate with us.

I love to see each fur baby adopted, but when one is adopted that has been with us all its life, even though we love on him and he has a good temporary home here, my heart feels so good when they can finally have a loving lifetime home. This is our sweet Precious who is 9 years old and was adopted Saturday to a wonderful lady, he will have a sister and brother in his new home, we will miss this handsome fellow but are so happy for him, his new home will be in Richmond . Thank you Ann Cosby for giving Precious his loving home
