🌞🐾 The weather is finally warming up, and our amazing volunteers are back in full swing! Every day it's nice out, we're making sure our pups get extra playtime in the runs, but our ultimate goal is to have every dog walked by a volunteer every day. Yesterday, we reached that goal, and some of our furry friends even got out twice for a walk! πŸŽ‰ We couldn't do it without our dedicated volunteers.

But we can always use more hands! 🐾 If you're looking to make a difference in a dog's life, please sign up and join our volunteer team. Let's keep those tails wagging! πŸ’•πŸΆ

We are in desperate need of 1 gallon jugs. For those that don't know we use 1 gallon jugs to sell our treated fish water in. We will take any empty milk jugs, water jugs or juice jugs that are 1 gallon in size and reuse them. Thank you in advance!

Xylitol can be found in a lot of products and it's now being labeled as Birch Sugar because it's extracted from Birch bark. It's toxic to dogs, cats and ferrets. Check your peanut butter ingredients before you give your animals any and if they get into something they shouldn't have, read the ingredients to know if you should get them to the vet right away!

πŸŽ‰ A huge thank you to Northeast Kansas Animal Welfare Foundation for their generous grant that was able to get our Emporia location new microchip scanners for our Animal Control Officers! This equipment will help us keep our community's pets safe and ensure they are quickly reunited with their families if they get lost. πŸΎπŸ’™

Microchipping your pet is one of the simplest and most effective ways to ensure your pet is returned to you if they ever wander off. πŸ•πŸˆ If you remember, just earlier this year we were able to reunite a dog that had wandered over 350 miles from her home! Here are just a few benefits of microchipping your pet:
Permanent ID: Unlike tags, microchips don’t fall off or get lost.
Fast recovery: Animal shelters and vets can scan your pet for identification, speeding up reunification.
Peace of mind: Knowing your pet can be identified and returned safely, no matter where they are.

In case you didn't know: we offer microchipping for only $10! Just give us a call to schedule ahead of time! 🐾❀️
