Adoption Opportunity:
Due to changes in family circumstances unrelated to Josey. It is with a VERY heavy heart that Josey’s mom has decided to rehome her.
Meet Josey she is one of the last available Gunnar x Gracie puppies. Gunnar and Gracie have produced some AMAZING puppies, so loving, loyal with great dispositions.
Josey is currently located on a farm in Indiana. Interested families will have to travel to New Haven, Indiana to meet Josey.
Josey is a beautiful 16-month-old, female Rottweiler. She is extremely sweet, loving, loyal, & playful pup. She gets along great with other dogs and cats. She is also good with children. She grew up in a household of six children, one of whom had special needs. She loves playing fetch and tug of war with ropes. She loves praise and making her humans happy. She tries to comfort you if she senses you are sad or down with slobbery kisses and empathetic stares with her big brown eyes. She loves being right by you and going for car rides & walks. Since day one Josey’s mom touched and played with her paws, ears, & mouth so she is fine when you clip her nails or need to check her teeth or ears. Josey takes after her Mama Gracie, in that she does not like to play in the water. Josey will tolerate baths because she enjoys getting scrubbed down and the treat that follows 😊 Josey is spayed and up to date on all vaccinations and knows basic commands.
Josey is shy with strangers, because of this fearfulness, it will take time for her to warm up to strangers, her new family will have to be patient with her and utilize the basic Threes of adoption: Three Days: The dog will need about three days to adjust to their basic needs (eating, sleeping, potty). Three Weeks: It takes about three weeks for a shy dog to start learning about your routines and understanding your household. Three Months: It can take around three months for a shy dog to truly feel like a part of the family.
If you are interested in welcoming this beautiful girl into your family, please message us at [email protected] to start the application process.
All prospective adopters will undergo a comprehensive screening process. Josey is close to her family, so leaving them will be a major adjustment. She will need someone who can offer patience and understanding during her adjustment period. There will be a rehoming fee which will be donated to the local dog welfare group we work with: the Lorain County Pit Crew
