Meet Zelda, an 11-week-old Rottweiler puppy.

Today’s consultation was all about getting the foundations right from the very beginning.

We covered everything from building a healthy daily routine and clear boundaries in the home, through to crate training, toilet training, appropriate play, engagement, handling, socialisation and exposure, managing unwanted behaviours, and understanding how and when to reinforce the behaviours we want to see more of.

At this age, so much of training is about what we allow, what we prevent and what we consistently reinforce.

The goal isn’t to fix problems later… it’s to raise the puppy in a way that gives those problems far less opportunity to develop in the first place.
