Service Peace Warriors

Service Peace Warriors Service dogs for Veterans and First Responders with PTSD and related disabilities.

After learning that twenty two American Veterans kill themselves each day here on American soil, we made a goal of putting as many (Teams Veteran and a Service Dog} together each year. We are committed to doing our part to change the lives of American Veterans who have come home in need of our support.

Congratulations to Our New Pet Tech CPR & First Aid Certified Teams!

At Service Peace Warriors, we believe preparing our veterans and first responders goes beyond training exceptional service dogs. That's why every handler in our program completes Pet Tech Pet CPR & First Aid Certification as part of their journey.

This important training equips our graduates with the knowledge and confidence to respond quickly in an emergency, recognize signs of illness or injury, and provide lifesaving care to their service dog if it's ever needed.

A service dog is more than a companion, they're a highly trained medical partner. Knowing how to protect and care for that partner is an essential part of being a successful service dog team.

Please join us in congratulating our newest graduates on earning their Pet Tech CPR & First Aid Certification! We are incredibly proud of your dedication, commitment, and hard work. Your willingness to continue learning demonstrates the incredible bond you share with your service dog.

Don't worry... if you see hands in the air, it's not a stick-up!

It's all part of the training.

One of the many real world skills our veterans and first responders learn during our handler course is how to confidently navigate airport security with their service dog.

Let's be honest, going through TSA can be stressful for anyone. Now imagine doing it for the first time with a service dog by your side.

That's why we don't leave anything to chance.

Our trainers walk every team through the entire airport security process before they ever set foot in an airport. We cover what to expect, how to communicate with TSA officers, and how service dogs are screened, and because learning is always easier when you're having fun, we add a little humor along the way! You'll often hear laughter as our trainers turn a potentially intimidating topic into an engaging and memorable learning experience.

At Service Peace Warriors, we believe training goes far beyond teaching tasks. It's about preparing our veterans and first responders for the everyday situations they'll encounter after graduation, whether that's going to the grocery store, attending a sporting event, or catching a flight across the country.

Confidence isn't built by avoiding challenges. It's built by preparing for them.

We thank Hanford Mission Integration Solutions for years of support. Their support helped provide for these 7 graduates and their dogs. Without the continued support from people like HMIS, we wouldn't be able to provide these well trained service dogs to heroes like these.

HMIS is a proud sponsor of Service Peace Warriors – a local nonprofit that provides highly trained service dogs free of charge to veterans and first responders living with service-related disabilities.

We were honored to attend the recent graduation ceremony for the newest group of service dogs and hear firsthand how our support is helping change lives and restore independence to our nation’s heroes. 🩵🐕‍🦺✨

It was training day at Costco and a local restaurant!

Our goal is to help veterans and first responders feel confident and comfortable in any situation, no matter what their day has in store. While our service dogs are fully trained, these outings are designed to strengthen the partnership between each handler and their dog through real world experiences they'll encounter together every day.

Every trip to a busy store, restaurant, or public space builds trust, reinforces teamwork, and helps each service dog team grow more confident navigating life together.

One of the biggest challenges our veterans and first responders have faced yet was participating in the Fourth of July parade. With large crowds, loud noises, and the feeling that all eyes are on you as you walk down the street, it can be an overwhelming experience.
They all did an incredible job, and it was another opportunity for the veterans and first responders to see the dedication and training that went into their service dogs long before they started their training. Every one of the service dogs handled the parade with confidence and took it all in stride. A heartfelt thank you to all of our puppy raisers, board members, and staff who work so hard to ensure we can attend these events.

For many of our veterans and first responders, attending a baseball game is a significant milestone. The large crowds, constant noise, and busy environment can be overwhelming. While we do everything we can to make the experience enjoyable, these outings represent much more than a day at the ballpark. They are important steps in each veteran's and first responder's journey, helping them regain confidence and discover that, with the support of their service dog, they can accomplish things they once believed were impossible.

As we celebrate our freedoms this Fourth of July, may we pause to remember the heroes who gave so much to protect and preserve those freedoms we cherish every day. Many sacrificed their comfort, their time with loved ones, and some gave their very lives so that future generations could live in freedom. We honor their courage, their selfless service, and the families who have stood beside them through every sacrifice.
Today, as we gather with family and friends, watch the fireworks, and enjoy the blessings of this great nation, may we never forget the price that was paid for the freedoms we so often take for granted. With grateful hearts, we remember, we honor, and we give thanks.
Happy Fourth of July. thank you to those who have served, those who continue to serve.

Day at the park pt2

Confidence as a service dog team doesn't happen overnight. It is built through countless hours of training, trust, and shared experiences.

One of the most important parts of our program is exposing our veterans, first responders, and their service dogs to a wide variety of environments. From walking across different surfaces to navigating busy public spaces filled with distractions, every new experience strengthens the bond between handler and dog.

We can explain what a service dog is capable of all day long. We can demonstrate the skills they have learned. But until our veterans and first responders experience those moments for themselves when their dog confidently guides them through a crowded area, remains focused despite distractions, or instinctively responds when they need support it all remains just a theory.

It's in these real world moments that everything changes. That's when trust replaces uncertainty. Confidence replaces hesitation. And a handler begins to realize they are no longer facing life's challenges alone.

Every outing, every obstacle, and every success builds another layer of confidence not just in the dog, but in the team they are becoming. This is why we train in the real world. Because real confidence is earned through real experiences.
