It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of retired Fall River Police K9 Joseph, who passed away on July 25, 2025.
K9 Joseph faithfully served the Fall River Police Department alongside his partner, Officer Kevin Lopes. Whether tracking a missing person, backing up our officers during dangerous calls, or simply offering silent comfort during tough times, K9 Joseph rose to the occasion.
In 2021, Joseph hung up his badge and transitioned into retirement, becoming a cherished member of Officer Lopes’ family. He spent his remaining years surrounded by love, play, and the peace he so greatly earned.
Thank you, K9 Joseph, for your unwavering loyalty, bravery, and dedication to our department and community. You were a protector, a partner, and above all, a friend. You will be missed.
