Please meet ESSENCE, one of our beloved Magazine Pups at Paws Crossed ... a 4½-month-old bundle of charm, curiosity, and soft puppy dreams.

Just like her namesake, Essence Magazine, this little girl is all about celebrating the beauty of life, personality, and presence. Essence has that same unforgettable glow; bright, expressive eyes, a confident little sit, and a way of capturing attention without even trying. She’s sweet, stylish in her own puppy way, and already full of potential just waiting to be written into her next chapter. 💕

Check her out ... pictured here sitting proudly on a bench on our property that says “Family.” And if you look closely… she keeps glancing over her shoulder, like she already knows exactly what she’s missing. Because here’s the truth, if you had to guess the one thing Essence wants more than anything in the world, it wouldn’t be toys, or treats, or even a perfect sunny nap spot.

It’s a family...

A real one. One to call her own. One to grow up with, learn from, and love with her whole little heart.

Please meet PEPPA! At just 1 year and 10 months old, Peppa makes her entrance like a prima ballerina ... graceful, ethereal, and perfectly on pointe. She glides into a room with elegance and poise, as if she's performing for a packed theater. 🩰

But don't let the delicate demeanor fool you.

Take out a toy mouse or a crinkly ball, give it a flick across the floor, and... ⚽️ WATCH OUT! ⚽️

Suddenly, Peppa is ready for the World Cup!

With lightning-fast reflexes and championship-level determination, she chases, swats, pounces, and scores! Every toy becomes a game-winning opportunity. MOWGLI here! Not being sassy, but adorably starting the week off with a little heart-shaped tongue and a whole lot of sweet kisses for you! 💕

This just over a year old, handsome-with-a-capital-H boy, might seem a bit reserved at first glance. He is the kind of young gentleman who likes to take a moment, size things up, and get comfortable. But give Mowgli a little time, a little patience, a lot of love... and let's be honest, snacks sure don't hurt... and you'll quickly discover the silly, funny, charming lad hiding behind those handsome looks. 😄

Whooping it up in a doggie play group or out for a lovely walk with his special people, this boy simple sparkles! ✨

Tomorrow is a very big day for one of our favorite people... 💕

Our amazing volunteer, Lauren, is graduating High School! 🎓

Lauren started volunteering with us when she was just 11 years old alongside her dad, and over the years she has truly done it all... walking dogs, helping with transports, assisting at puppy cuddle days, working events, and most recently completing her senior project internship with us.

She's also a proud adopter who absolutely adores her PCAR alum, Mocha. 🐾

From day one, Lauren has shown up with a big bright smile, a huge heart, and a willingness to help wherever needed. It has been our absolute privilege to watch her grow from a young volunteer into an incredible young woman.

Animal rescue is a better place because of Lauren, and we couldn't be more excited to see what the future holds for her. Something tells us there will be a lot more pets whose lives are changed because of her. ❤️

So come on PCAR family .... Please join us in congratulating our Lauren on this exciting milestone!!! 🙌
