A very good friend of mine owns Swamp Dogs in Walbridge. She not only has a pool on her property she also does training classes, private training, private and open swim. If your dog is in need of training or fun in the for of swimming reach out to her! She also holds dock dog events so if your dog loves to swim and fetch, they'll have a blast!!

Puppy Swim Day bring your puppy 4 to 6 months of age out to the pool for an introduction to swimming. June 5th 7pm to 8pm. $20 per dog. For questions or further info email [email protected].

Three newbies from last week.

First up was sweet old Hank. He enjoyed lying outside and soaking up the sun while he was here.

Then we had Hanx. He sure had a lot to say, but he was a ball of fun. Like most labs, he loved playing ball and would have gone until he dropped if I had let him.

Last but definitely not least was Stubbs. She was pretty shy and standoffish at first, but by day two, she was my best friend. I wish I had taken a picture of her standing. She definitely lives up, or down, to her name.

If you have ever been inside the kennel while dropping your dog off, you know it gets very loud. Here I am talking about stress-free and calm, and when you drop your dog off, it's a madhouse. The dogs don't act that way when I walk into the kennel, they know me and trust me. When someone new comes into the kennel, they all get excited and want to see this new person. I will never tell someone that they can't see the kennels, just know that what you see when you walk in isn't what it's like all the time. I've already decided that when we build the new kennel, I will have a reception area with windows so you can see the dogs and kennel, but they won't be able to see you as well. Its all about making it better for the puppers.
